Stopped to look at the Castle and realised it was a hotel. Returned a few days later to stay two nights. This is a lovely hotel in a lovely building and grounds. Our room was superb; on the second floor and with great views. The room was spacious and plush with an immense comfy bed and a lovely bathroom. Breakfast... More

Beautiful setting, lovely castle hotel. Small, perfectly organised. Nice sights, towers, feeling of castle. Set in a gorgeous natural reserve area for birds - Urdaibai. Birds observatories nearby. Great place to go trekking and walks from (e.g. Painted Forrest/ Bosque de Oma). Staff wonderful - so helpful. restaurant has phenomenal food. Simply everything was to the highest level. Loved it.

Stayed for two nights with my two daughters. Excellent service, wonderful room, great atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff. Truly delicious food - the restaurant is Michelin recommended. Great location: lots of interesting things to see within a short distance. One small suggestion: please include some extra songs on the playlist in the dining room.

How to feel like royalty? Spend a night in a castle. The Castillo de Arteaga provided just the special treat we were looking for on our first night in Basque. The value of the room and the meals was also incomparable. The food was excellent and the experience was a highlight of our two week family vacation.

I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday. It is as stunning as it looks in the photos and the staff are brilliant.....a fantastic experience. After dining in the restaurant one evening we returned to our turret room where the staff had helped me prepare a special surprise for my girlfriend....I proposed to her on the rooftop which they had... A great and visually stunning place for a business meeting or a wedding. As long as the group is limited in size as there aren't many rooms. The staff, food, premises and surroundings are all top notch! Only 30 minutes by taxi from Bilbao airport.

This is an outstanding property with an outstanding staff. Our suite was incredible -- lots of windows overlooking beautiful landscapes....gorgeous furnishings and amenities ...high ceilings .... extremely comfortable. Great breakfasts that accommodated our gluten-free diets and a gormet restaurant for dinners. We did not want to leave!

Had the most wonderful stay at Castillo Arteaga. As it was my husband's 60th Birthday we were given a wonderful upgrade to a turret suite with roof terrace - superb! We had the Romantic getaway package and the meal in the restaurant was absolutely stunning. Thank you for such a warm welcome and extremely comfortable stay.
