Best roast chicken dinner ever, and nice to say more than 2 x roast potatoes, which is usual at other pubs that do roast dinners. Good and quick service and reasonable price. Good idea to book though.

We met some friends for lunch and had booked a table, asking for one in the bar as we wanted to take our small dog. When we arrived, the table was reserved with our name and a dog paw sign together with a bowl of water on the floor and 2 dog biscuits!! we were very impressed by this and...

A great welcome and service. We had the fish platter and the venison burger. Both were well presented and tasty. Pudding was chocolate brownie and Pelican mess. Both very good. Would recommend this pub to anyone.

Lovely views from the room, very good size, homely, relaxing decor with two large windows, lots of light and comfortable beds - fabulous. This is a coaching inn on a main road, some rooms will be in earshot of the road, but not a busy road. Also there may well be some noise from the kitchen and bar areas but...

The pub was conveniently located for us but having read other reviews we asked for a quiet room, however, we were given Room 8 which faces into the main A4 road and was not quiet. The shower was great but it was impossible to use without flooding the bathroom floor even when you were being really careful. The breakfast was...

Appearances matter and this places looks will give you a good first impression. The garden is big and even has a small...

Late afternoon arrival (4pm) and the welcome was friendly. Fresh milk for the room. My double room was large, clean and clean. Good range of beer in the bar, and the staff were helpful and attentive. Beer and wine were good. Chorizo starter was really very good as was the fish pie. There is a canal 100-200m from the hotel....

I spent a very restful and comfortable night here while away on business. A friendly greeting from the barmaid and shown to my large, airy and very clean room along with fresh milk for tea, so much better than the plastic muck usually served up and a simple but much appreciated bonus. The shower was good and, as with the...

Booked a birthday lunch and if I tell you we were at the table for 3 and a half hours, it will give some indication of what a relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable experience it was! The food was excellent as was the service by very friendly staff. They allowed us to bring a birthday cake although the choice of desserts...
