A hidden gem in the Cotswolds with excellent staff, good food and great accommodation. The area is a good spot to enable the exploration of this beautiful countryside with a small river running in the grounds which can be followed to an old mill.

We stayed here last week with our kids and loved the facilities and rooms/cottages. Beautiful setting and the restaurant had great breakfast and Dinner. The rooms in the bar had a couple of fireplaces and we sat there and enjoyed family time. Very close to Burton on the Water and nice walks all around the Inn and its grounds!

Firstly, the only gripe is that the Sunday lunch is simply not value for money. The quantity of food is poor, a little beef and very little vegetable for two persons, £22.95 I'm sorry is not good! Why do it, all so avoidable and I don't appreciate not recidivist value, happy to pay for it if it delivers! Mentioned to... More

A great little find, tucked away and a real haven. The perfect location and the food was first rate, well done! I am never disappointed coming to this hotel and it is better each time we visit. We'll be back soon.

Great start to our stay being upgraded to a larger room "Jourdelays". The room offered us great views of the village, river and local countryside. The large bed was great but because it can be split in two singles you do have the problem of possibly ending up in the valley between the two mattresses. Lower Slaughter is a great... More

The place looks great in the pictures, but actually it was a great disappointment. The inn is sole less and has all the character ripped out. Not any atmosphere what so ever, I imagine no locals come her at all. My wife beautifully described it as being like crossroads, shame. To many rooms no attention to detail in the Barrand... More

We have just spent two nights at the Slaughters Country Inn. It is perfectly situated in Lower Slaughter to visit Bourton on the Water, we walked there. The staff are all very friendly and the food in the restaurant and breakfast was all excellent. Drinks are very expensive but I guess that's because of the area. We had the Walpole... More

First time visiting the Slaughters and wow what a beautiful place. We arrived in the evening and was welcomed by a lovely lit hotel in the countryside. Our room was very big and a lovely lay out. Very clean, nice big bed and a lovely bathroom. My boyfriend booked us dinner reservations in the hotels restaurant. Service was great and... More

Just returned from 3 days at this lovely old inn for my husband's birthday. Lovely bedrooms, warm and well-furnished. The village or rather hamlet of Lower Slaughter is so pretty, definately worth a visit. Ate here each night and the food was mixed, not a big choice, but an excellent waiter, sadly I forgot to get his name, tall slim... More
