We loved the fact the hotel was closed at 5pm on arrival and had to ring up the get let in, also we enjoyed there was no heating on in the room as this encouraged me to wrap the duvet tight around to keep warm. Also I loved that breakfast was served between 8.30am and 9am as stated in the...

Both rooms 4 and 7 not properly cleaned! dirty and dusty.Shower blinds mouldy. Missing light bulb.Chair in room 7 dirty/shabby and dusty. Pelmets hanging off. Only half a toilet roll in bathroom had to ask for another one.Would take a lot lot more than 200 words to describe faults as so unacceptable!

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights. The staff were very friendly and so itsseems were the locals. We ate in the pub for the first night, which was very good indeed and reasonably priced, (especially so when considering the quality). Would definitely book here again.

Friendly welcome and we were given a room opposite the pub in a separate bock which was fine. Rooms clean but we had room 5 and the window blind in the bathroom is seriously mouldy and needs changing. The plug was missing from the sink and a small beaker would be great for cleaning your teeth. Tea and coffee facilities...

We stopped in on a wet sunday afternoon, we were a group of 22 adults and children coming in towards the end of the day and we hadn't pre booked [a chefs worst nightmare]. We had the most amazing Sunday dinner beautifully presented and tasted great. A lovely pub with super friendly helpful staff.

Bookable online via Eviivo which was very handy. Our rooms were in a separate block on the other side of the car park from the pub itself, so we weren't disturbed by noise from the bar, often a problem with accommodation in a pub. The rooms were clean and in good condition, although net curtains would have been nice for...

I stayed here for 2 nights, the accommodation is adequate but needs a bit of a makeover. The walls between rooms are thin and even general conversation between rooms is audible. The floors creak, I suspect the chipboard needs screwing down properly. Overall it was clean and of an acceptable standard but I would be looking for something better if...

We stopped off here for lunch today and were made so welcome from the moment we set foot in the place. I don't tend to write reviews on here ... time is precious but today was worth it. I hesitated in choosing between the pork roast or beef that had been slow cooking for 14 hours, so the chef who...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Mount is a family owned 12th century inn in the heart of Wales. We have nine en-suite rooms including family, quad, triple, double and twin rooms and one with disabled access and bathroom. All rooms include a home cooked breakfast. We also serve freshly made food at lunch and dinner time every day using quality local ingredients to make scrumptious dishes. Real ales, wines, ciders and lagers are available from the bar as well as a range of other drinks to suit all tastes. We also serve freshly ground Illy coffee and 28 different flavours of tea! You can also dine alfresco on our patio, the only place in town to enjoy dinner or a drink that gets all day sunshine in the spring and summer months. Built around 1280AD on the site of a Motte and Bailey castle, The Mount Inn stands in a prominent position at the head of the main road through Llanidloes facing the centuries old market hall. In the heart of the inn the snug area includes a tiled floor originating from the castle as well as 600 year old settles forming a secluded area to meet up with friends to eat and drink. There is also a family and games room with a pool table and large screen TV showing select sports including rugby, football and F1. Families can dine here and keep an eye on busy children who can help themselves to the toy box or board games provided. Around Llanidloes there are some excellent walking destinations with a firm favourite being to find the source of the Severn through the Hafren forest. There are golf courses and clay pigeon shooting ranges close by and for bikers there is the chance to partake in Geraint Jones Yamaha offroading experience. There are also some excellent cycling routes in and around the area to enjoy. Dog walkers are more than welcome at The Mount. If you're looking for a friendly, warm and comfortable place to stay then look no further than The Mount Inn. ... more   less
