I absolutely loved this hotel and wish I could've stayed longer than the one night stay we had booked. It's located along a river on the outskirts of Strasbourg...close enough to the city to make it an adequate home base for exploring, yet isolated enough to experience the charm of the rural French countryside. The hotel is an old converted mill and offers free bicycle loaners to take advantage of the setting (particularly the network of bike paths in the area). The scenic grounds are surrounded by willow trees, water, and open green space for relaxing. The room itself was clean, spacious, and modern making for a very comfortable stay. You can expect to wake up to the sounds of flowing water and church bells from the neighboring small town. I'm not sure how easy it is to get to from the local airport or train station given we arrived by car, but the stop for the tram into the city is approximately a 5 minute drive away (you could probably walk it you wanted).

I'd also like to call special attention to the staff, particularly the lady working the reception the early evening of Sept 26th. After our check in, we retreated to our rooms to change our clothes and then went to head out and explore Strasbourg. When we got to the reception desk to ask for some information, she already had city and tram network maps set aside for us, with the key stops circled. It was a small gesture, but one that demonstrated to us that the staff genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay.

This is honestly one of the best hotels I've stayed at in all my years of travelling.

We stayed here two nights earlier this week. Our room was very large which was good considering we are travelling with our teenage son. The staff were friendly, the furnishing and decorations cheerful and interesting. The only downside was that my son's bed was a mattress on the floor which considering we payed a supplementary 35 euros we expected a more comfortable bed.
One thing to note is that there are useful maps downstairs showing the strasbourg transport system, we took advantage of the park and ride system which was very cheap, enabling us to use the trams all day as a group on our parking ticket.

We chose this hotel based on reviews, and loved our two nights there. Our room was large and modern with good beds and bathroom. The restaurant was closed, but the hotel let us know that in advance. One evening we drove into Strasbourg. The next day we took the Park and Ride option, which was easier and very pleasant. The station is close by, I think less than 3 miles. Cost was something like 3 euros in and back out of the city, for all occupants of the car--a real bargain and convenient besides. I don't know how it would work to stay here without a car. We did not try the breakfast, opting instead for a bakery in the village. The staff we encountered were very helpful and kind. The grounds are beautiful, with a stream and extensive gardens next to the restaurant. There is a cozy lobby and a pretty sitting area outside. We loved the place and hope to return.

When the Family travel they need comfort and hospitality.
In this hotel we didn’t receive NOTHING
START

a hotel that focuses on the fact that it has a swimming pool and it is not included in the price, there is a restaurant and it does not work, there is another restaurant nearby, but they basically do not accept guests from the hotel, because the hotel management is hostile towards the management of the Restaurant, while the cost of 170 euros must be paid separately for air conditioning, separately paid for almost everything that should be included in the room services. it’s so hot in the room that it’s impossible to breathe when you open the Windows, which we did with great difficulty, the room turned into a mosquito hive, the water is hot intermittently, there’s not even water in the room, the parking is occupied by guests from the Restaurant, we had to park on the field outside the complex. Wi-Fi not work
overall HORRIBLE. DO NOT RECOMMEND

This converted Mill house over 4 floors is a great location if you have a car to get to the Hotel. Classical French wacky decor inside with art pieces made out of metal, but this just adds to the character.
I stayed with a colleague who had a large 30m room which was really nice, whilst my room (9) was at 15m was small at slightly bizzare floral decor. However beds were very comfortable and quiet!
Breakfast was a good local selection and mainly Organic which was a nice extra touch.
Location is 20 minutes from Strasbourg and you can leave you car and take the tram in which makes it even easier.
Overall nice place to stay with a restaurant next door which also looked really good as well

If you are planning to go to Strasbourg, you should stay at this wonderful hotel outside of Strasbourg. In December you have the Christmas markets and to get into the city with the car is a real hassle.

You can leave your car parked on the outskirts pay a minimum for parking space plus tram ride into the center.

The hotel is an old mill, rooms are superb and the food very sophisticated. Sorry I don't have any photos as we stayed there last year and I did not have my camera with me.

The hotel has a wonderful location along the river Ill. Be sure to specify a room out the back overlooking the river. Reception is warm and helpful. The rooms are quiet sparsely appointed, especially considering the price. Large and airy though. Very quiet. Excellent breakfast with home made jams.

We stayed here for 3 nights and used the time to explore Strasbourg and the Black Forest. We chose this hotel based on TA reviews.
It is a charming converted water mill set in a couple of acres of grounds surrounded by farmland on the edge of the pretty town of wantzenau It is quiet and comfortable. There are 20 rooms and on the ground floor there is a reception a breakfast room and a bar. Outside there is terrace and a separate restaurant building
We were given two adjacent rooms on the first floor which were reasonably furnished , very comfortable beds- the rooms were spotlessly clean and serviced each day
The restaurant was closed for two weeks while we stayed so we pick nicked on the terrace with pizzas from the nearby town. We didn't take breakfast which was extra
It was about 20 minutes to drive into Strasbourg although we were told later that there is a local tram stop with good links into the city it. Was about 30 minutes to Baden Baden ( both were fantastic days out)
Very friendly staff - very nice stay

Lovely place in great setting. Large comfortable bedrooms and delicious and different breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. A great base for exploring Strasbourg, and for walking in the countryside. Tram station close to hotel takes you into the heart of the city.

My wife and i spent a long weekend 13-16 November at the Moulin and found it to be a jewel.
We were surprised to see that the Moulin was a four-storey structure as the pictures don't really reveal this. However, we had a great room on the 4th floor (Nr.17) with a view in two directions (fields and forest). The hotel is family run and very charming. One of the sisters took time to give me a personal history of the mill and how her grandfather worked. I asked her why there were four floors and she patiently explained. Ask her when you visit. The restuarant is run by the brother and he is a fantastic cook who enjoys chatting with his guests to explain different dishes. Access to Strasbourg is simple and very convenient: the last stop of the streetcar directly into the city is about 10 minutes drive to the south of the hotel. Recommend very highly.
