We received a nice welcome & enjoyed tea/ coffee in the beautiful drawing room before being shown to our room. The Ferguson suite was our room of choice which didn't disappoint. The bed was very comfortable & the ensuite had lovely toiletries provided. The breakfast & dinner was cooked fresh with plenty of choice. The food was of a very...

Incredible staff, a place with lots of character where you can recharge in a very relaxing atmosphere. The location is great to take the scotch road and visit many wonderful distilleries. And if that is not enough you can also enjoy the spa in the house and get a great massage. I highly recommend the afternoon tea!

I recently took my step mum for a 50th dinner here and I couldn't have asked for more. We were greeted by the manager Aaron and he showed us through to the drawing room, the decor of this B and B is very sympathetic to the 17th century house, you can see how much care the owner have put into...

We had a two nights stay (17th/18th Sept) and found that it met all the positive recommendations from Tripadvisor. Of particular importance, the staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly, responding to any requests we had. It was a very relaxing stay and we enjoyed being part of only a small group of guests rather than being adrift...

The food was excellent except they informed us upon arrival that they have no weekday liquor license. Had we known we would have brought our own wine. As it was, they sent someone out to get a bottle. The website does not make this clear. We stayed in the family room - Tartan, and did not know in advance that...

I was allocated a room in the attic of the building - the bathroom was accessed by crossing the landing at the top of the stairs to this floor. i.e to get rom the bedroom to the bathroom one had to go across a common walkway to other bedrooms. To make matters worse there was no hot water so I...

Hi Fiona, Thank you for kindly taking the time to leave such a pleasant reveiw. All to often trip advisor can be used to portray only negative comments, and it is a pleasure to know that what we do is valued. We are extremeley lucky to be in such a beautifull part of the country, and love for guests to...

Booked Durn House on the spur of the moment purely from the pictures on the website. On arrival, was all I hoped it to be, a splendid late-18th century Scottish Georgian House which had been sympathetically refurbished and refurnished. The drawing rooms are extremely well appointed and comfortable. Bedroom was enormous with a four-poster bed and a bathroom the size...

David, Wow thank you for extremeley kind words. We have spent a great deal of time and effort in restoring and maintaining the house and it is all made worth while when we know it is appreciated. All to often, traditional country houses are overlooked for modern trendy hotels, and it is a pleasure to allow visitors from all over...

The Durn Suite was excellent with stylish period furnishings and a massive en suite. Dinner was one of the best I have had in Scotland, although the wine list was rather limited and the BYO option had only just been withdrawn. Breakfast was also first class. The service was willing if rather amateurish. Overall a great experience.
