Stayed at the Red Lion last night with some friends and could not recommend it highly enough. The staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful, the food was really good, and the rooms were really quirky, clean and comfortable. I will certainly be staying there again AND recommending it to friends and colleagues. Many establishments I have stayed at could...

After a long day it was great to freshen up at the Holiday Inn Express next door and then book in for a meal at the Red Lion. The menu was small - but perfectly formed - and we chose the bream. Delicious and beautifully presented. Alex and the team were on top form and we wanted for nothing. The...

A stop off on the way to Hastings. Good reception on arrival, Was given Room 11, which is the smallest of small rooms I have ever slept in - up in the eves you do expect a small room and sloping ceilings, but so so small, the bathroom was well equipped, very clean and seemed bigger than the bedroom. Quaint,...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback, our 13th Century Coaching Inn, provides an array of varying room sizes and shapes due to the dating and nature of the original building. We stayed one very hot night. Parking was great right outside at no charge. We were met at Reception by friendly and helpful staff. The room was tastefully furnished but we were at the top in the eaves (very narrow stairs) and the windows were very small. Although there were 2 fans in the room we still sweltered all night...

Scallops overpriced as was a glass of wine. Rooms clean and smart some damage to tops letting the room down. Shower was low so had to duck to...
