We couldn't have asked for a better welcome! We were quite an awkward party, ten of us in total, given them half an hour's warning and stayed longer than what they normally stay open for - the staff were wonderfully friendly and the food was delicious. I had the chicken curry half and half and it was lush! We only...

We were mountain biking nearby and booked the hotel because of its location. I was really happy with it, the price was great, the staff were friendly and the food in the pub was just what we were after having been outside all day.

Lovely location central to many attractions of mid Wales:- The spectacular Devils Bridge and waterfalls are only a short drive away , Aberystwyth up the road and many scenic drives across the fells or through the mountains in any direction from the hotel ! Basic but spotless room and great choice of menu in evenings either to eat in the...

In booking this hotel (not booked through TA) we thought it was in Aberystwyth however as town was full of new students at the Uni, no great problem. Small hotel with very friendly hard working owners, unfortunately the lords of health & safety have forced changes that takes away some of charm of such an hotel. The big joy of...

Stayed at above last weekend with our labrador Flake. Great position, good food and clean but needs tidying. Safety issue no outdoor lighting at rear entrance and there is a 200 ft drop at back of garden just a couple of rails which dogs and children could fall through

Second night of our roadtrip. A little difficult to find out amongst the hills, but once you do the views are stunning. Hotel and room clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. Both the evening meal and breakfast were very good and filling. If you have had a long day you can just relax here, refresh yourself with a drink...

We were on a Freerein horse riding holiday travelling a section between Devil's Bridge & Tal y bont. We were dripping wet when we stopped here on a very rainy day with our horses. Despite our condition we received a genuine warm welcome. Our wet gear was hung up in the boiler room & some of our clothing was even...

This is only a two-star hotel, and is VERY old - George Borrow did stay there! - so the rooms have very thick walls and heavy doors (which are rather difficult to negotiate with bags, etc.), and ours, No. 4, was fairly small (given that the ensuite facilities had to be fitted in.) Having said that, the view from the...
