Have visited this several times this year, both for the Sunday carvery and weekday evening meals. It's a lovely view beside the river with the beautiful new Galloway bridge. The carvery is the best in the area, always great and the weekday evening meals are just as good. They also have great Orkney ales on tap.

We booked out the entire hotel for the weekend. The owners were very accommodating as due to unforseen circumstances we had to extend some team member's stays and swap people around from their designated rooms. We were also fed very well and they accommodated a great deal many more people that we were travelling and working with for all breakfasts...

From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed warmly and given plenty of help on activities to do or places to go. Hotel staff were also very accommodating as far as our plans went, making sure breakfast was available at the exact time we needed and that the doors were open when we were going to come...

Great place to take a break when heading north on the main highway. The gardens at the back overlook the river. Quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed having a beer and relaxing en route Scotland. Next time will stop over.

Just been for Sunday dinner tonight and we were seriously disappointed. £12 for tough beef isn't good enough and the place was freezing! Try elsewhere. My partner had chicken which he said was nice and mother in law had pork which was also tough. We think this was because they have a carvery at lunch time and we just got...

Great location on the River Ken. Countryside is beautiful. Dave and staff were beyond helpful assisting us with securely wrapping some art work we had purchased. Food was some of the best on our trip. The fruit Pavlova was a mighty dessert.. The rooms were a tiny bit stuffy at night but don't open the windows or you'll have company....

This is a local eatery for us although in the last few months we defected elsewhere. We returned at the weekend and had a really enjoyable meal. There was something for everyone. However I was disappointed that the most fabulous fish pie I have ever had is still not on the menu. Please guys- bring it back and we will...

Enjoyed food at this hotel....staff lovely too! Recommend it. Reason at good price too. Worth a visit, nothing was too much trouble. And it was one of the few restaurants open on a Bank Holiday in Galloway

We were recommended this hotel by a friend and she was not wrong. It may be a tad dated but it is comfortable with friendly staff and it has a superb location on the banks of the fast-flowing River Ken. Supping a thirst-quenching real ale - Orkney Brewery - on the sun-kissed terrace overlooking the river in the sparkling summer...

We were allowed to check-in slightly early, which was great, and the room was very clean albeit a bit old-fashioned (but we weren't expecting a modern hotel anyway). Room had good facilities although a hairdryer would have been a welcome addition. Good location - really close to Galloway Forest Park and all the local attractions. The breakfast was fine, with...
