I was helping my daughter look for a place to stay for a weekend away with her boyfriend and I suggested this guest house (unbeknown to me at this time that it had shut down). I have stayed at the barn house many times through work and this was always my first choice when working in the area. Nikki and...

Unfortunately this lovely guest house has closed down - a loss to the village and the area. The property is being sold as residential houses but there are a few more places to stay in Walkington - the Fergie pub has rooms, The Cottage self catering and Broadgate Farm Cottages

We stayed at the barn house last summer on the night of the Olympics opening ceremony and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The location is perfect just tucked away from the main high street ( though this is not busy) and has easy access to local pubs and restaurants which were also really nice and welcoming. The accommodation in...

We wanted to stay somewhere not too far away from home for our ten year anniversary. All we wanted was peace and quiet and that's just what we got. We stayed in The Eagles Nest room in The Pigeon Loft. It was almost like having a little bungalow as there was the use of a kitchen (for fresh milk not...

Phoned on Thursday evening to make a reservation for the following Saturday. Would have made the reservation on line had their system been operable. The owner was less than enthusiastic that we made a booking, or so it seemed. Upon our arrival we were shown to our room which was approx 50 yards up a gravel path. We enquired as...

I read this review and was absolutely flabbergasted and quite honestly I feel I have to reply in a very honest and open way for the sake of all hard working and dedicated B & B owners. I have built my business up from scratch for 7 years working 7 days a week. Its hard to really know how tough...

Stumbled upon this lovely B&B whilst trawling the internet for a weekend retreat. Good job i rang as the booking site said it was all booked up, not the case as when i called it appears this was an error and i had the pick of the rooms. Staff on the phone were marvelous including the owner Nikki. We had...

I returned to Walkington following a previous stay in July. The quality of service, accommodation and food were outstanding on both occasions and the staff, once again, were helpful and attentive. The shortage of wardrobe space was not an issue for me as my stay lasted for only one night and I made the visit without the company of my...

Have chosen to stay here for the last four years. Liked it from the start and found the attitude of the staff first class, indeed they could not do enough to ensure a comfortable and pleasent stay. Of course we can always find faults if we look hard enough but I have to say that they all work hard to...

Stayed in August for two nights.Originally in the Scottish room while beautifully decorated ,as someone mentioned previously,it is very hot due to the airing cupboard in the wardrobe! A fan had been provided unfortunately this blew the dust from the beams all over the bed resulting in my husband having an asthma attack in the middle of the night. This is...

We recently stayed in the Out of Africa room, 2 adult and 1 child and can find very little to fault it, upon arrival we was made to feel welcome the owner made our daughter feel instantly at ease, not something easily accomplished. We was shown around and found the quality of the building above standard with lovely hand painted...
