Stopped here for a pub lunch on a walk with the University of York walking society. I was leading a medium walk of 21 people, and had been to hell and back trying to find a pub to accommodate the lot of us. Our original establishment had rejected us, and it was looking as though the group would have to go hungry on the 8km. I was about to give up since most pubs weren't willing to take such last minute bookings, but after contacting the Three Fiddles they were more than willing to accommodate us, and provide us with chilli, chips and nachos for the brilliant price of £3.50 a head (cooking 21 pies, for example, would have taken hours). It is rare that I encounter such a polite service when booking a meal. Even when we encountered issues with the walk and told them we would be delayed by a couple of hours, the Three Fiddles were incredibly nice about it. Needless to say, their hospitality was top notch, as they provided us with a cornered off section and didn't even raise any complaint that we had half the mud of the moors caked on our trousers. So overall, a very pleasant experience, and for their service and chilli I would doubtless give them a 5* rating.…
Visited a few times and we are never disappointed. The food is fresh, homemade and the staff are lovely and attentive. The burgers and Parmos are particularly nice as are the breakfasts. We appreciate the fact that you have to wait for food as this to us proves its freshly cooked and is not simply Zapped in a microwave. Always recommend this place to friends and family if they are wanting to eat out and the prices are spot on too 👍
I couldn't believe the amount of options available on the menu for a high street pub. I expected traditional 'pub grub' but was pleasantly surprised at the range of foods available. I had the spicy chicken parmo and it was huge! Really tasty and presented lovely. The staff were friendly and the service was spot on. Prices are very reasonable and the facilities were clean.
Got steak, burger and a toastie .firstly steak was supposed to be medium yet when you pressed it blood oozed out. The toastie was supposed to be cheese and ham yet cheese and onion was delivered .the burger was fine but the onion rings were soggy. A replacement steak came back which was cooked a lot better but was very gristly
Thought I would write this review because last week only people eating yet food took over an hour to come and was at tea time and not busy.today visited ordered food at half eleven and it came after one and it was only a parmo and a burger.
