Stayed here during our tour of Scotland in Oct. 2019. Unfortunately we arrived in the dark as we stayed too long at a local distillery and I think we missed a pretty drive on a curved wooded road. Hotel is beautiful and luxurious and the food was great. Room was fantastic.

The public areas are impressive and well finished, and the staff are very attentive. The 'grand mountain view suite' had the look of a serviced apartment rather than a luxury hotel room - clean and tidy but no wow-factor. Other than nice White Company toiletries, the bathroom was fairly basic. Food in the restaurant was good - dinner was served in generous portions and was pretty tasty. Breakfast good (we had the full cooked options), though the range of continental options was limited when compared to other luxury hotels. Pretty much just juices, cereals, yoghurts, etc - very limited on cold cuts, cheeses, smoked fish, etc - in fact I'm not sure there were any at all. Our lasting memory will be of Sylvia who serves in the restaurant. At first her friendly attitude was welcome, but she doesn't know when to leave you in peace. She stayed at our table for approx 15mins telling us her life story - when other guests thankfully arrived she gave them the same story and anecdotes in a very loud voice that the whole room could hear, and discussed people's room rates and packages at the same loud volume. Each course was delivered with another long chat when all we wanted to do was enjoy our meal, our own conversation, and our own company.…

Any kind of feedback is always gratefully received, as it assists me in monitoring the service we provide and helps me seek to find improvement wherever necessary. I was naturally saddened however to read that you were underwhelmed by aspects of your visit, and especially sorry to learn of this a little time after your stay. Feedback from our guests means everything to us, and I would have loved the opportunity to have spoken with you personally. All of the bedrooms and Suites within Dunalastair Hotel Suites have completely different layouts, including a variety of Luxury Suites and Mountain View Suites. We are confident that we can find a perfect layout and size to suit you, and would be pleased to offer a show-round of the hotel and explanation of all of the different types of room on a potential next visit, so that we can find the best possible allocation for you! I am disappointed to know that you were dissatisfied with the quality of our breakfast and am sorry that we did not have the opportunity to discuss this during your time at the hotel. We receive so many positive comments about our breakfast, which is actually prepared in mind of the latest regulations and safety measures due to Covid-19, hence some alterations had to be made to our usual protocols & procedures, including removing the usual buffet style offering and individually packaging each item. I am however truly sorry that you found our genuine interest and care for our guests day and stay with us, a little intrusive. I would like to assure you that the team and I will be working as hard as ever to ensure that our guests have a wonderful time with us. We are absolutely dedicated to ensuring that each and every detail of a stay is perfect, and to assist in any way that we can. We are, of course, always looking to improve our very high standards of service, and your feedback is highly valued, even so Sylvia is our most mentioned team member here on TripAdvisor and most of our guests comment favourably of her. We try our best to time our service levels well, and achieve a balance that is neither too much nor too little, tailored to each of our guests. Dunalastair Hotel Suites is a stunning hotel that is worth every penny! The decor is gorgeous and really gives it a five star feel. The room itself was stunning, proper luxury! The staff are so friendly, really helpful and go out of their way to make you comfortable. We had the continental breakfast which was great - the waiting staff were also really friendly. Overall, a fab stay! The hotel is in a very remote area so be prepared to drive on very narrow/single track roads!

Exceeded our expectations on all levels. The quality of the room, food, service, etc was excellent. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful making sure our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. Would highly recommend it.
