We had planned to be up in the area for a few days and, due to the school holidays, had an extra night to fill. After pondering various options we recalled this place which had been recommended to us by a good friend. It's a bit of a trek, eventually down a dead-end road but that just adds to the... More

The Moor of Rannoch Hotel is a quality destination in itself due to its appealing yet isolated Scottish Highland location. This positive experience is underpinned by the professional competence and caring attitude of the hotel management (owners), excellent restaurant, log fire bar and lounge with a library. The bedrooms are comfortable with a view of the moor plus an excellent... More

Lovely cosy hotel, outstanding food, unfortunately we only had dinner one night as we missed the train from Glasgow & arrived 6hours later than planned! We were still offered the full dinner menu, but it was rather too late for any of us,so a bowl of soup & a few glasses of wine was all we wanted. The rooms are lovely... More

What a way to start a trip to Scotland! Scott met us at the train station and escorted us to our very comfortable room. We had just left the Sleeper Train from London (would not do that again!) so we were happy to sit down to Steph's delicious breakfast. If you like to walk and enjoy some quiet time plus... More

We visited the hotel after seeing it on the tv, we were totally blown away on our arrival, the location is just stunning. The welcome was so warm, we knocked the door and the first words were hello, would you like a tea or coffee. Scott and Steph are amazing hosts and Steph's cooking is out of this world, you... More

This was our first stay here although we have eaten here many times under the last 3 owners. It just gets better and better with superb accommodation and excellent hosts. Nothing is too much trouble as we arrived later than planned. The views are breathtaking and so are the deer on the front lawn. Hope to back next June. Lyn... More

I have visited this restaurant four times this year the latest being 22nd September and on every occasion the food has been outstanding, the service impeccable and the experience simply wonderful especially the wild deer that wander around close to the hotel in the evening. The menu has been different on each occasion and even the whisky menu changes, although... More

Fantastic location with everything of top quality. A truly memorable night's stay. The rooms were beautifully prepared with top quality fittings and supplies but no unnecessary 'fripperies'. We enjoyed Steph's superb food and Scott's informal, but totally professional, hosting. We were made to feel like visiting friends - which is a rather nice thing to say! I have stayed in... More

This was our second time staying here and it was just as good as the first. Scott & Steph are exceptional hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Steph's cooking is out of this world, would give a few top London restaurants a run for their money. Scott's knowledge of single malts (and train services!) is amazing, we learnt such a... More

We stayed here overnight as a break on a long distance walk. Since I last stopped it has undergone a complete change by its new owners. One must book and cannot just turn up at the door which I found a little strange. Nevertheless we had booked for Dinner Bed and Breakfast. The meal was above that which one might... More
