Situated in the beautiful unspoilt village of Dowlish Wake in the heart of picturesque rural Somerset, the New Inn is a 350 year old stone built pub and is situated just 200 yards from the ever popular Perry's Cider Mill and Museum. We have two separate bar areas both with wood burning stoves, a stunning non smoking Restaurant serving lunches and evening meals and a large secluded beer garden which is perfect for those warm summer evenings.
We didn't pre book and visited on the off chance, we walked into the pub an there was a lovely atmosphere, the beer was very nice and this was followed by a lovely meal enjoyed by all the family, would highly recommend.

This was the 5th. place on our roadtrip and New Inn was just what we needed. A tiny village at the countryside. We found ourselves relaxed and totally calm after a few minutes. Very old and cozy place. Good food in the restaurant. Great breakfast and we enjoyed Reading a newspaper. Dont miss the cider production, the shop and museum, only 200 m down the road. We went on an evening walk and enjoyed the quietness and the beautiful nature.

We stayed on a Monday evening. The room was spotless and very quite and peaceful with a lovely garden to enjoy. We had a delicious home cooked meal and slept really well as it had such a relaxing vibe. The breakfast was perfectly cooked with local good quality produce. We hope to return soon when we are next in the area. We enjoyed a visit to the Perry's Cider museum in the pretty village.

Whilst on holiday in Somerset and visiting Perrys Cider, myself and my wife spotted a sign for the New Inn. With lunchtime approaching we though it a good idea to call in for a bite to eat. We were welcomed by a welcoming, friendly young lady behind the bar and choosing our meals from a good lunchtime specials menu we were certainly not disappointed by the excellent quality of our respective meals. Well cooked, nicely presented and plentiful too! We both really enjoyed our visit to The New Inn and would be most happy to return and, hopefully stay for a couple of nights at a future date.

Stopped for a drink when passing through the village. Got a warm welcome and some good service. Sat in the lovely garden at the back of the pub. Didn't eat but the food must have been good as there were a lot of diners.

I booked this last minute for the bank holiday, the pub is in a gorgeous village with thatch cottages. The pub itself was lovely, garden beautiful and food is good. We had an evening meal there on arrival which was good, they have specials as well as the standard menu. The room was nice, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean. We slept well and woke to all the birds singing the next morning. Breakfast was lovely, very tasty. Would recommend as a great value place to stay.

We visited today for the first time and found our way to spotless yet comfortable table at the head of the dining area with views to the attractive village outside Service came in a friendly unobtrusive way.Drinks well paced.. not overly pricey The Fish pie with side.. hot and tasty.. tho perhaps not fully browned. The Ham Egg and Chips (with my unusual request for omelette) generous with succulent meats. A good way to spend a family hour.
