Stayed with a colleague on Sunday evening. Thing that hits you immediately is the smell in the bar. As mentioned elsewhere it's like damp dog! Makes for not a too pleasant eating experience. The rooms are large, bed large with clean bedding. Room sound proofed which is fabulous. However, the rest of the room is dirty. I understand that being...

It was our sons wedding which he and his wife wanted to hold here after plenty of research on south west venues. We've been a few times to sample the food but thought it might be useful to comment on the wedding side of things for those people thinking of using this venue. From start to finish the whole organisation...

Found this place through booking. Com. Near where I was going the following day. Very happy with my choice, deep in the countryside. I'm from London where there is a lot of light pollution so when I saw the millions of stars above my head I was breath taken. Friendly charming little Inn.

We got caught in A30/M5 traffic and decided to go off track looking for hopefully, a good pub for lunch. We didn't go far towards the M5 Taunton before we saw the signs for a Good Pub guide handmade sign and I'm so glad we followed it. Such a lovely pub who also apparently specialise in weddings and functions. We...

We stayed here for 3 nights with our dog, ate at the pub twice in the evenings and just loved it. The rooms are cosy but very roomy and spotless, the staff at the pub could not be more welcoming and friendly and were brilliant with our dog. We used it as a base to see friends and visit local...

We ate frequently at this establishment whilst touring the area. The menu offered a great choice of food, which was very well cooked and thoroughly enjoyable. The portions were huge, and overall offered great value for money. As a CAMRA member, I was keen to sample the Ale's, and the ones I tried were top notch. They also have a...

My daughter and I stayed there as a Base for cheddar and meeting up with an old friend. We booked one of the stables and it was lovely. Clean, fresh and a wonderful Hugh bed. We slept so well after our travels. The bathroom was large with a bath and shower. We had plenty of towels and bedding. Nothing was...

Stayed here last Friday night with two colleagues, the rooms were big and spacious, massive comfortable bed, lovely wet room bathroom shower. Food in the pub was great, really would struggle to find fault with this establishment or the owners and staff. Definately be back again

Booked in last Saturday night to see The Martin Barre Band, my favourite guitarist. Leaving the band aside, they were awesome, the whole set-up of Square and Compass turned out to be brilliant, especially if you're staying over! Arrived mid-afternoon and although kitchen was closing up Chris the, very amiable, landlord, sorted out a couple of steak baguettes and a...

I have been here several times now for tea, having a range of good from steak chilli to fajitas to lasagne. The portions are massive and the quality doesn't suffer. Lovely local cider on draught(very strong be warned) and couple of ales, with a friendly service always
