We stayed at the Wherry for approximately two weeks for business purposes. The first room was OK, a suite with double aspect windows but unfortunately very noisy due to being near the busy road. The second room had a lovely water view but was very small and several of the windows didn't open so it was also extremely hot. Breakfast was fine and staff were friendly. The problem was with dinner service. Once seated by a server, manager, bar tender or who ever happens to seat you, it's then basically up to you whether you sit there for the next half hour and hope someone actually returns to take your order or whether you're proactive and call to one of the servers that are standing around chatting or walking by. When someone finally takes your order for food and drinks, you would assume that that person would be your server for the entire evening. Unfortunately not. Once you finish your drink or meal. if you decide you want another drink, or a dessert or even the bill, it's then up to you to either wait another half hour until someone notices either the empty plates or the look of exasperation from you and your party. Alternatively you can go the proactive course once again and flag down another server but this is easier said than done as they tend to huddle together to chat by the cash register or other areas, rather than actually look around to see if service is needed. And if you happen to be sitting outside on the patio, you can basically forget about any service. We watched many guests become exasperated waiting for someone to come out and take their order that often they would have to come into the hotel to find a server. Clearly the poor dinner service is the fault of the manager who needs to assign tables to individual servers rather than the current disorganized system The best service we received during our two weeks stay was from an exceptionally sharp 17 year old lad who informed us that he had only just started and this was his first job. We were so impressed we gave him a big tip. The food, when you actually receive it, is pretty decent. We only had the carvery on one occasion and there was just so much drama with not being allowed to carry your own plate back to the table that we didn't order it again. Most of the staff were nice during our stay but one receptionist called Sue was very rude to us and we had to complain to the manager. Not sure if we would stay at the hotel again. As we checked out of our room, part of the door fell off and the elevator was not working so we had to carry all our luggage down the stairs.

Food is excellent, sadly customer service and attitude of The Manager, Luke is far from that! A supervisor and an assistant manager both apologised for the way he spoke to me, I was advised that he would come to apologise, he walked by me on three occassions and did not make eye contact. I was told he was just having a bad day, sadly because of the way he spoke to me in front of people I also was then having a bad day and was actually shaking. He told me that I could not have made a booking, I said I had actually spoken to reception staff at the Hotel on two separate occasions, he said I could not have done- I did not appreciate the implication that I was a liar, I found that extremely offensive as I am sure most people in that position would - very upsetting experience

We ate here this evening, what a disapointment it was. The man who seated us was friendly & explained a few covid rules regarding ordering. He took our drinks order & then we were expecting a waitress to take our food order. Several other diners who had been seated after us had food orders taken but we were overlooked,no waitress even acknowledge we were there. Eventually our order was taken, food not worth the wait, dry & luke warm. Over priced too,will not eat here again

Unfortunately I visited with a friend yesterday for lunch. We waited for about 8 minutes to be seated.I appreciate the place was probably busy, but several members of staff walked passed and not one acknowledged us. Due to the poor customer service we left and went elsewhere.

Stayed here last week and had a deluxe room overlooking the broads. A brilliant view and always something to look at. Very Covid secure. Room clean and plenty of soft towels in bathroom. A few toiletries also. Young woman on reception was very pleasant and helpful. Plenty of car parking spaces. Breakfast was good, good quality food and good helpful serving staff. Was very pleased that one of the waitresses asked a gentleman customer to put his mask on when he was standing, twice. I asked for her name at reception as I was so pleased she had done that. Well done to Carrie. Was very pleased with our stay at this hotel and will certainly stay here again.
