I have stayed on a camp on the Adriatic Sea before on another island Cres, so when we booked a bungalow we were looking forward to it. On arrival, the first building to be seen was the reception and by the poor appearance of this, my expectations began to fall. We were given the keys to our first bungalow and unlocking the front door soon unlocked more disappointment. The bungalow was small, one small master bedroom with single beds that had to be pushed together to form a double, with a flatpack dated wardrobe, and old industrial style course carpet on the floor. A further bedroom with bunk beds and furnished in the above style. The bathroom had a working bathroom suite although again dated and in need of modernising . The kitchen / diner consisted of a poorly equipped kitchen cupboard with just basic crockery, pots and utensils. A sink and two hob cooker and fridge completed the kitchen with the addition of a poor quality table and chairs. However as the fridge and cooker did not work we were moved into another bungalow, surprisingly furnished exactly the same as the first. There was no air conditioning and therefore the shutters on windows and doors had to be kept closed to keep out the sun, making the whole place very dark. Unfortunately there was no outside private space, apart from drinking the odd cup of tea on the door step. On the plus side, the location is brilliant, approx 1 minute walk from the sea. There are cleaners who work very hard every day, cleaning, empting bins and changing towels. We had originally booked to stay for six days with the option of increasing the length of our stay, but actually decreased our length of stay and left 2 days early. To add insult to injury we found a beautiful apartment in Stari Grad, 2 mins from here, it was new, had everything this property didn’t and came in remarkably cheaper on a daily basis!…
