on the 12th of August we visited this lovely hotel for a great lunch. The hotel is a jewel; handcarved doors and each room is unique. The skills of late architect Dario Castellinari are evident when you visit this well layed out work of art. Tranquillity and a source of energy, 'volta energia' his wife who runs the hotel Rosa... Rosa, the owner of the place, makes one feel very welcome. I really liked to be her guest. She is genuinly interested in others and also gives an insight in her own life if one is interested. It is very helpfull however if you can speak some words Italian, otherwise communcation is limited allthough she tends to understand quickly. The... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night during a short trip. We were the only guests (so it was very very very quiet) , but our experience there was very good. The room was beautiful and clean and the dinner was delicious, made completely with local fresh ingredients. We will visit this hotel again in the future if we... More

We had lunch and spent a half day in the surroundings. We hadn't planned to spend the night there and regretted that. The hotel is beautiful, the surroundings are stunning and the overall atmosphere is extremely peaceful.. Would have loved to stay longer. The road trip from Cagliari is highly recommended, especially in spring. The nature is blossoming and the... More

We can do nothing but agree with all the positive comments about this hotel.Notwithstanding rainy and windy weather (November 4-5, 2013) and the fact that we were going to spend a night in a theatrical hotel in the middle of nowhere, we fell in love with our baroque room and with Rosa (within an hour or so). Rosa is so... More

It is hidden away, at the end of the paved roads, but it was worth the journey. It gives an abandoned impression, but Rosa, the owner welcomes you with a genuine warmth and makes you feel at home. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-equipped. And everything is functioning. I advise to book a dinner. The owner herself is the... More

The hotel is situated outside Orroli, a rural village on a plane in the heart of the country. We arrived on a cold afternoon, at the nearly abandonned hotel. It's built like a circular Roman pleasure ground, and the rooms, in a circle around an atrium, have no windows looking out to the surroundings. We were lucky to have made... More

We visited Hotel Castellinaria in September 2011. We arrived at sunset after cruising the landscapes around Orroli during the day. When we got to the entrance we thought we were inside a movie. The concept of the Hotel its superb!! The hotel is built in a circular shape with the rooms located around the inner yard. The hotel is located... More

A small hotel, built as a circle around a garden. To me it was a bit Mexican style. At first we could not find the property. It is really in the middle of nowhere and very quiet. From the outside it looks like a large country house rather than a hotel and we passed it twice without noticing this was... More

Our hosts welcomed us when we arrived by motorbike, and waved us into the main courtyard, to park the bike right outside the door to our room. So just half a dozen steps and all bike gear, and luggage was in the room - nice for me and my arms. As the Castelinaria website will show you, the bedrooms are... More
