I stayed at the Tyrian for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment and I will be sure to stay here again. The beds are very comfortable, lots of kitchen space, check-in took less than a minute (we pre-paid), mid-to-large sized supermarket next door (Coles), tram stop on the corner. Endless food & drink options. Great spot for vegetarians/vegans. Only...

Have just checked in to this place earlier today, so am yet to have the night here. So far I am impressed. 2 bedroom apartment, 2 bathrooms. Large living area. Well appointed kitchen. Situated pretty much next door to Coles supermarket which is super handy. Stones throw from cafes, restaurants and bars. Nice and clean. Thoroughly recommend. Quite alot of...

Tyrian is super central if you like the Fitzroy atmosphere. Great coffee, restaurants, and shopping right at your door. The apartment is very spacious and well appointed. Ours face Johnston st and was a bit noisy at night, but no big deal. Not high glam but nice, and good value.

Love staying at the Tyrian apartments when in Melbourne. The apartments are well furnished, with all the amenities. They are also in a perfect location, close enough to the CBD and surrounded by fantastic restaurants and bars

Spent a couple of nights here while my son was checking out University of Melbourne. We had decided we wanted to stay nearer the University as opposed to staying in an apartment in the central city, to get a feel for the environs. I am simply not cool enough for Fitzroy but did enjoy masquerading as a cool guy for...

We recently stated at the Tyrian while in Melbourne for business. Such an ideal location, short walk from Exhibition building / restaurants & cafes a stone throw away on Brunswick St. Excellent accomodation. Close to tram. Car parking undercover.

Stayed here for a few nights in June. We had a two bedroom apartment which was clean, modern and very spacious. Located very close (couple of minutes walk) to the Brunswick Street restaurant strip, and also close to tram stops making it only 15 mins or so from the heart of the city. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would...

A small block of serviced apartments in funky Fitzroy. Although everything is at your doorstep (supermarket, public transport, restaurants, bars and cafes), the apartments are very quiet. We had a 2b/r, 2 bathroom apartment that was very spacious, well equipped, with a big living area and a good sized verandah. There is also free secure parking in the basement, the...

This place was an absolute gem. On arrival the staff were friendly and accommodating. Secure Car parking was included in the tariff. The room was clean and spacious. It had all that you could want in a serviced apartment, and free WiFi. The location is great. So very close to bars and restaurants many of which are brilliant places to...

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighbourhood Profile
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighbourhood that embraces both old and new.
