We stayed here in July 2020 not too long after the hotel had reopened.
We chose the hotel because when we searched for a great resort in Majorca with an excellent kids club this came up and when we looked at the pics online it looked awesome so we booked it.
The good points;
1. Kids Club was was staffed by great people who were wonderful with our son.
2. Pool was great for the afternoons when we would play with our son.
3. Rooms were huge and clean with high quality decor.
4. Breakfast spread was excellent.
5. Guest services were helpful booking beach clubs and restaurants.
6. Staff friendly and attentive - little things like bringing tabasco to the table without me asking because I asked for it once.
7. Food in the restaurants during the day/evening was high quality.
8. Made it really easy to comply with the rules on masks.
9. Staff were very conscious of hygiene and always wore masks and cleaned regularly all public spaces.
The bad points were all minor and mostly it was because of Covid like, for example, limited menu choice in the restaurant or limited choice of spa treatments.
On the whole we had an amazing time and will definitely go back if we decide to go to Majorca again.

Stayed at St Regis for 6 nights in early March. The staff were truly remakable particularly Pedro - Concierge, Janine the manager, Fabio at the restaurant amongst a host of others made our stay memorable. Nothing was too much for them. The other staff whose name I don't remember including the room cleaners were also very helpful. The rooms were clean and spotless. Breakfast was excellent and the dinner at Aqua top notch. It was a great location. It is close to Palma and Palma Nous and Palma Nova. If I go back to Mallorca this will be the place we will stay. I would whole-heartedly recommend this hotel.

Writing this review honestly brings a smile to my face as we visited the St Regis Mardavall for the first time at the end of Sep to celebrate my partners birthday.

From the moment we arrived until we left we felt well taken care of. It was such a relaxing, faultless stay and I highly recommend this hotel.

Check-in started on the terrace with a cold glass of champagne and some water and accompaniments. After we proceeded to our room where our Butler showed us the room and resources available to us.

Later at sundown the Butler brought some balloons for my partners birthday which was also along side some petit fours and a bottle of Champagne. We honestly couldn’t believe their generosity it was very well received!

There was always plenty of room around the pool and complimentary water can be found everywhere. The food around the pool is good enough with the option to also dine at the Resturant where breakfast is served. Make sure you visit the Spa. There was one morning with less sun so we spent a lazy am there, but in fact it has a large indoor/ outdoor pool area with service so works as a good option.

They have a suitable kids club with a small pool area. We came child free but I took a look and plenty of activities take place to keep the little ones occupied.

The breakfast is to die for. Again your usual high standard of all the continental items and plenty made to order. I am a fan of pancakes and eggs Benedict which was all created to perfection.

I didn’t want to mention any names because everyone is a standout member of the team in my humble opinion. Thanks Henry, you did always seem to be on Reception when we asked plenty of questions.

They have an electric boat that can be hired for a romantic or family day. Also, why not take the bike down to Puerto Portals…I hired a bike for a few hours and it was lovely. The electric scooters are useable if you download the app to match. All pretty impressive. Don’t forget there is an electric car charger, so if you have a rental you are well looked after.

If you have any other questions about the hotel I’d be happy to help. Instagram @travellingwithgem.

Thank you Team Mardavall, you truly are the most luxurious resort on the island. See you again!

I’m rarely compelled to leave a review, but our experience here was a pretty big bummer.

We booked this stay last minute (the day we arrived) due to changing plans, and unfortunately decided to check out that night—the location was not what we had hoped, there were many loud children at the restaurants and below our room at the children’s pool, and they put half of our party over a ten minute walk away from the main building, despite the hotel clearly being only partially full. These aren’t things I would leave a review about normally, but our checkout experience turned into a real nightmare.

We called down to reception and explained our plans to leave in the morning, they told us they completely understood and it wouldn’t be a problem. Having spoken to the desk, we booked our next hotel and made our arrangements to leave.

But the story was different at checkout— now we were told that the four day stay was completely non-refundable and there was nothing we could do. Note that we had just made the booking the day prior, and weren’t even 24 hours out from when we arrived. After much back and forth, they offered us the remaining three days as a credit at the hotel for up to one year, which they called a courtesy.

We asked if we could at least transfer to another Marriott or St. Regis location (we live in California and don’t often fly the seventeen hours to Mallorca) but they informed me that those affiliations don’t do anything in this situation. They also informed us that the credit was non-transferrable when we asked if we could gift it to someone else. We were kind of baffled. I used to think of the St Regis as a trusted name but this experience was… disheartening.

It’s worth mentioning that the service otherwise was very pleasant at the Aqua Restaurant and some of the staff seemed to go above and beyond if you asked for help. The hotel is clean but a bit outdated. There are many children at the resort, and we were told the children’s pool and bar areas can get quite loud (can confirm on the children’s pool).

I don’t know what to say, really. The hotel is holding onto more than $6,000 from us and I regret checking in. It doesn’t really live up to what a luxury hotel promises.

Dear Guest, thank you for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor following your short stay with us. I am very sorry to hear that we were unable to meet your expectations. Your reservation was made via a travel agent who was informed transparently about our cancellation policy. It seems that unfortunately you were not informed accordingly. Our resort contains 3 separate wings, all within a maximum 5 minute walk from the reception area. On arrival you had been assigned two rooms within your booked category that were on the same floor, one only two doors down from the other one. When you requested the possibility to move to a room closer to the main building, our Front Office team offered an alternative which you accepted for your mother, whereas your son chose to stay in the originally assigned room. I am very sorry that you felt disturbed by the children in the resort - the St. Regis Mardavall is a family resort, this is also outlined on our website. May I recommend an adults only resort for future visits, our sister hotel, the Castillo Hotel Son Vida, a Luxury Collection Hotel, might be ideally suited for you. Should you wish to gift your credit to somebody else, do feel free to get in touch directly with myself or with our Front Desk Manager who gave your son his contact details precisely for that purpose. Once again I sincerely regret to hear that you did not like our hotel, I hope you will give us another opportunity in the future. If there is anything else I can do for you, do not hesitate to contact me directly. Kind regards, Oscar del Campo Complex General Manager

I had a terrible experience dealing with this hotel and would advise other travelers seeking a luxury experience to look elsewhere. I booked a stay at the St. Regis Mallorca Resort through American Express as a platinum level cardholder. Just two hours before my flight was scheduled to depart for Spain for this trip, the airline cancelled my flight entirely. I was unable to get a flight out of the United States for several days, and as a result, had to cancel my trip.

I immediately contacted American Express, who contacted the hotel on my behalf to explain the situation and request a waiver of the hotel fee, given that it was a scenario that was completely beyond my control. This outreach occurred more than 2 days before I was set to check in to the hotel.

The following day, I received a rude and unprofessional email directly from the St. Regis’s complex reservation specialist, Ana Martin. The email began, “Greetings from Sunny Mallorca” and then proceeded to inform me that the hotel had decided to charge me for the entirety of my reservation—$4,300.00—because I canceled the reservation 60 hours prior to my arrival (instead of the required 72). Of course, I could not have cancelled my trip 72 hours out because my flight had not yet been cancelled at that time. Ms. Martin made no attempt to work with me to resolve this unfortunate situation, instead disingenuously informing me that “we recommend the purchase of travel insurance in order to avoid any penalties in case of a cancellation.”

Five-star hotels earn their reputation by adapting to customer needs and putting the customer experience above all else. The St. Regis—through Ms. Martin’s actions—fell well short of this standard. Ms. Martin contacted me directly—which was improper given that she had initially been contacted by my American Express representative—and showed a complete lack of empathy for my situation.

American Express was certain that Ms. Martin’s email had been made in error and assured me that they would fix the situation. When they attempted to contact the hotel again on my behalf the following day, however, they received no response. In fact, it wasn’t until four business days later that Ms. Martin finally responded. Astonishingly, she gave the same response: the St. Regis intended to keep the entirety of my payment for a room in which I was not able to stay, which it no doubt was able to rebook.

This entire experience has caused me a great deal of anxiety. I am quite frankly astonished that the St. Regis failed to rectify this situation. I would expect this type of curt, “sorry about your luck” customer experience from a 2-star hotel.

Clearly the St. Regis is not what it pretends to be. Based on my experience, I will no longer give the St. Regis my business, and will be cancelling my Marriott Bonvoy membership. I will ensure that my family and colleagues do the same.

We stayed here with our two children for three nights at the end of September. The weather was still warm enough to use the pool, which was a nice three-level infinity pool. The location is absolutely beautiful; we walked down to the beach everyday. I am not sure if the dock is for use for guests, but we swam off the dock everyday and were never told otherwise. Not a lot of people seem to want to take the trek down to the rocky beach, but we really liked it.

The room we were upgraded to was lovely, it would definitely have been over our budget to book that room outright at over $900/night (we booked the military leisure rate for $340/night, for a standard room). I knew this was the case, so I used suite night awards ahead of time to ensure we could have the family suite.

Further to this… I think it was known that we were on a reduced rate because the level of service we got compared to others was vastly different! We saw our “butler” once when we arrived…and never again. I attempted to call three times during our stay for various needs and no one ever picked up the phone. Lol.

I got a 50-min massage (140, not bad) at the spa on-site and the massage itself was great, but the spa seems like it could use a little renovation. In my experience, when you arrive you put on a robe, are offered a drink, wait in a quiet room, etc… but this wasn’t the case here. I got there and just went straight to the massage room and wasn’t offered any of the other spa amenities. It was a little odd and not a real “spa experience.”

Some things that I loved about the resort is that the kids club is included in the room rates, and kids eat free breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is something like 8 AM to 11 AM, Lunch from 12 to 2, and dinner from 6 to 8. The food at the main restaurant, Aqua, wasn’t necessarily the best, I did expect more from the St. Regis… but hey, it’s always nice to have free kids meals! They also gave our children really nice goodie bags upon arrival, and kids sized robes, so that was a much appreciated touch.

Overall, I think I expected more, we still had a good time, but I don’t feel the desire to return.

Dear AnnaBonvoy, Thank for your stay and for taking the time to share your recent experience at the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort! We are very happy to read, that you and your family had a good time at the hotel, you loved the room, the breakfast and you appreciated the free meals, the goodie bags and the robes for the kids. On the other hand, we do regret, that certain aspects, as our butler-service and the spa-service were not up to your expectations. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconveniences experienced, this is by no means the standard we aim to deliver to our guests. We also regret, your at the Aqua restaurant wasn't what you expected it to be. In order to be able to improve, I would appreciate it, if you could send me a mail with more detailed information on the reason for your discontent with the restaurant. We truly hope your last experience with us has not deterred you from staying with us again. With that in mind, you are more than welcome to contact me directly in the future so I can personally look after your booking. I stayed at the St. Regis for one night in August and was disappointed given the price tag that comes along with it.

First of all, this hotel is in need of a massive renovation. The “20 year anniversary” sign hanging in the lobby almost mocks the decor and design of the resort that clearly has not been touched since 2002 and looks rather stale. It’s clear that minor enhancements to the rooms have been attempted such as new chairs or lighting, but it looks ridiculous next to decor that again, is clearly from 20 years ago (the desk, beds, armoire). The hallways also in need of a new paint job and the restaurant Aqua could use a spruce as well. One the hotel workers chatting with us mentioned that the resort was only half full- easy to see why. Simply not worth $1200 a night for one standard room.

I will say the food at Aqua was wonderful and overall the service met expectations (other than a rather rude receptionist who checked us out and left quite a bad taste in our mouths).

I won’t visit again until a renovation is done (or maybe ever?) - feels like they’re exploiting the St. Regis name to charge as much as possible while providing an overall average experience. Save your money!

Dear 209claire209, We deeply regret our hotel was not up to your expectations. The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort closes its' doors in winter and refurbishments and outstanding maintenance are done every year. All our 120 rooms have been renovated and refurbished in 2018. Last winter, 2021/22, the entire bar and the Michelin Starred restaurant Es Fum, including their terraces, have had a complete renovation. This winter the hotel will close down during 4 months, 2 big projects will be done during this time: the main restaurant and the pool bar/restaurant, will get a fantastic new and elegant look. More works are planned for the coming years. We are happy, you enjoyed the quality of our food and the overall impression of our service was good. We hope you will give us another chance and visit us again in the next couple of years. With best regards, Danielle van den Dungen Assistant to the General Manager

I'm a Bonvoy Titanium this year (maybe the only year I'll achieve that status thanks to covid). We booked this hotel and chose an upgraded room with points and then I also attached upgrade certificates to the reservation. We were informed before our arrival that we had been upgraded. Upon arrival we were shown our room: Junior suite in the main building with ocean view (photo). One of the nicest rooms we've ever stayed in, and we've stayed in quite a few. Everything looked new or refreshed. Very stylish works of art decorating the room.

The basics: Bed was great, we weren't awakened by any noises, everything worked.

We ordered room service and had a GREAT pizza one night. Dinner in the restaurant and perhaps the best caprese salad we've ever had. Minestrone soup was different than anything we'd ever had and we would not re-order.

Breakfast was included at no cost I think due to my status. Wonderful buffet breakfast that stretched the length of the dining room. Excellent choices and food quality.

We managed to be present for 2 of the sabering rituals. Kind of cool and a nice glass of champagne!

We made use of the concierge and Lorena was excellent in her suggestions and patience with us. Booked a tour of old town through her.

We had great interactions with all the staff. Everyone seemed very eager to make our stay memorable. I wanted to note that Peter wowed me at checkout. He had done some research and found a credit we were eligible for that we didn't even know about.

We would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone that would be going to Mallorca. We had a fabulous, memorable time.

This is the 4th time I’ve stayed at this wonderful hotel . From the moment you arrive you are treated exceptionally well by everyone in the team you come into contact with. The manager, Janine ,takes time to chat to all the guests and nothing is too much trouble . The hotel is tastefully decorated and the spacious garden grounds stunning . I love that there’s so much space around the pool to find a quiet spot , definitely good for current social distancing ! It’s a really special experience.

After having visited Palma for just a day several years ago on a cruise ship, we finally made it there for a 3 night stay during Easter. I can feel satisfied it was a good choice to stay in that part of the island because it is accessible to visit Palma and also drive to the west coast of Mallorca, to the towns of Andratx, Bañalbufar, Valldemosa, Deyá, Sóller and Port Sóller, which I strongly recommend to do. That drive is truly unforgettable.
The St Regis Mardavall feels like staying in an hacienda. Breakfast is complimentary for all guests and it is of a high quality and variety. Only thing is I prefer a good freshly made American style waffle and not the supermarket type hard and sugary Belgian waffles they offered.
The grounds of the hotel are very pretty with colorful flowers and trees. Feels very peaceful and relaxing to walk around the pool and gardens.
The Spa has different types of wet saunas, dry saunas and pools. Massage was excellent, and if you have Bonvoy status, don't forget to ask for the extra 15 minutes coupon.
Our room was upgraded to a Junior Suite which was spacious and well lit with all the expected amenites of high standard. We found an Easter arrangement of 2 Lindt chocolate bunnies which were incredibly tasty!
Dinner at the Buffet was below average. However, dinner at Es Fum was truly memorable. The staff made sure we had a great time there.
Almost all the staff was very friendly and helpful in bars and restaurants and also 2 concierges we spoke to.
I thought parking would be complimentary because the website says complimentary Valet Parking, but it costs 25 Euro per night. They need to write that more clearly.
We used the hotel bikes for a ride around the area which was fun.
The doors from building to building are locked and you need to use your card to go past each door which is annoying. They should keep the doors open.
The website shows a photo of a sandy area with turquoise water which I thought would be a nice place to sit and catch some sun, but it is not a beach and I was disappointed about that. There's practically no beach in this hotel.
Overall, a great place to stay and the area will become more trending when the Mandarin Oriental opens next door.
Thanks to Melanie and Rico for their assistance and hope to be able to return in the future.

I’ve only ever visited this area in high season jun - sept so can’t say what restaurants will be open. However the nearby area of Portals Nous has a small residential area & portals nous is a large marina. With shops, restaurants and a nice beach with a sailing club. We take taxis everywhere especially into the city of palma where you’ll find good restaurants, shops etc
