A beautiful, friendly campsite with amazing views of Castle Beynac above. Would highly recommend the premium safari tents, which were fully equipped with water, power, fridge/freezer, gas hob, coffee machine, toaster, webber bbq and a plancha! With multiple play areas, including well maintained trampolines it's very well setup for children. The pool area is a real gem, and floating in the pool looking up at the castle never gets old! The location on the banks of the Dordogne river, with a beach 5 mins walk away is perfect. Friendly and helpful staff top this off. Wouldn't hesitate to return!

This was our first visit to the Dordogne area of France but from previous reviews of campsites in France our expectations have become high, and Capeyrou did not fall short on any account. After a 10 hour drive from Roscoff we arrived. (It only looked a couple of inches on the map🙈)
I had only booked a couple of days before but the team on reception sorted us out also giving us a pitch in front of the river. We received an extremely warm welcome checked in quickly and pointed in the direction of our pitch.( Great Start to anybody’s Holiday).
Piches are a great size with shade and sun as required, water taps and electric hookup (tip, you could require a 50 mtr cable on some pitches)

The toilet and shower blocks are spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water, and as soon as anybody leaves a pitch ,the remaining grass is cut and bushes strummed .

There is a large bar with inside and outside seating, pool table, and a different food van turns up most evening selling a selection of cuisines. The Pool area is second to none as can be seen by the photo’s, But the pier de resistance has to be the views and the tranquility of the site.

Firstly thank you to team CAPEYROU for making our stay so enjoyable, and secondly thank you to all the friendly people we met during our short stay.
Sorry we didn’t get to say goodbye, but you were all still in bed!.
Ps forgot to mention, make sure you book the canoe trip via reception, you won’t be disappointed 👍

We've stayed in a lot of French campsites over the years and this is one of the best. The situation is hard to beat. Right on the Dordogne with canoeing from the site, a short walk from the pretty town and stunning castle at Beynac-et-Cazenac, everytime you look up it's like being on the set of a Disney film. The site itself has spacious shady pitches, plenty of washing and toilet clean facilities, great activities for the kids (playgound, football nets, boules, trampolines...) and a fantastic pool with a stunning view of the castle. There's a lovely relaxed bar with food trucks that come every night providing a range of street food for every taste and just across the road is a great little shop, butcher and baker providing everything you could need. But what sets this site above is the wonderful staff, so kind and fun, nothing was too much trouble, it seems like they really enjoy working here and it shows in the campsite atmosphere... Don't forget to buy them a drnk at the bar!!

Great location, friendly and efficient staff, good size pitch, international clientele meant plenty of chances for our teenage children to meet and socialise with other kids, good pool although loungers are always in short supply, the parasols are useless because they are in poorly located fixed positions.

Some minor gripes: the pitches are a good size with plenty of shade but are extremely dusty. The management could do with reseeding the grass on the pitches in the off season. Second, the food vans which visit (in place of on-site catering) are very limited and focused on British food - who wants fish and chips when on holiday in France??? Third, we don’t use a fridge and have a cool box and we rely on ice or frozen bottles being available for purchase at the site constantly. There were several occasions when ice was not available. This really makes our catering arrangements difficult.
Finally, one or the other of the washing machines were out of order throughout our stay.

Those rally are just minor gripes. Overall we had a fantastic stay and will certainly be going back soon.

What an absolute stunner of a site! The location, right on the Dordogne river, was overlooked by Chateau Beynac on the clifftop. The view never got boring! The site was handy for walking to shops, restaurants and activities Inc canoeing. Was close to other towns of interest Inc Sarlat

The toilet and shower facilities were spotless, the staff cleaned them regularly.
Our grass pitch was spacious with sun, shade and views of the river and Chateau.
The pool was a good size and the bar great for socialising with other campers.
The staff team were brilliant, very smiley and helpful and spoke very good English.

The location is excellent. Worth the extra for a riverside pitch.

The staff are really nice and friendly. They have connections with a canoe tour company so you can easy book that ‘must do’ tour when you’re in this area. Their easy friendliness and efficiency makes a great stay into a brilliant stay.

The bar is really nice and clean. The pool is lovely with a fabulous view - has to be the best in the region and all the facilities are excellent.

They invite a different food truck onto the site every day and it arrives at 6pm ish.

There is a shop nearby - also staffed by very nice people - that has everything you need, or you can enjoy the food trucks. I write this having just eaten a really top quality pizza from the truck.

This is the best site I have ever had the good fortune to stay on and I give it the highest recommendation.

Teresa is the staff member who booked us in and always has time for a friendly word.

we stayed on pitch 99 witch is a very big pitch with your own water tap and wastage. there is lots of grass and is not dusty. there is also lots of sun which is excellent if you want to sunbathe but equally alot of shade if you do not enjoy alot of sun. it is the perfect distance to everything. the river is a 3-5 walk depending on which gate you depart from. the hygiene block are just down the path and they are very clean. the pool may seem a little cold at first but after being in for a minute or so, it feels alot warmer. the owners of the camp can speek a variety of languages so communication can be very easy. opposite the camp is a bakery, butchers, a small grocery shop and a restaurant. overall the stay was the best

We had some concern following change of ownership initially because of the somewhat untidy appearance of the grounds, this was explained by the staff prioritising on erecting new chalet/tents and soon put right during our stay. We love this site returning year after year, which we will do. Beside the Dordogne, short walk into Beynac village, restaurants, 3 shops across the road caterting for day to day needs. An excellent swimming pool, wonderful views of the chateau, so much to see in the area. Very good bar area with food trucks calling each evening. Finally, the staff - Elodie as resident site director and her staff are excellent.

I have been coming here for 5 years now and it never disappoints. The site is in a lovely location only a 10 minute walk into a pretty village. Directly facing the campsite there is a Butcher’s, Bakers and a small supermarket selling all you need for a perfect holiday.
The staff are friendly and very helpful and always at hand when you need to ask them anything. The pitches are of a good size with some set along the river where it’s lovely to sit and watch the canoes passing by. There are plenty of trees for shade when it gets too hot. The facilities are spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water. There is also a very large, clean, infinity pool with plenty of sun beds and shade if needed.
No matter where you are on the site you have amazing views of the beautiful Chateau which you can watch the balloons pass over. There are also very good food trucks that come in the evenings if you don’t feel like cooking, with reasonable prices and a very nice bar where you can sit and enjoy your food with a cool drink.
Thank you for another lovely stay.

Am looking at this campsite for 2022 with tween / teen children. What's the WiFi like and is there a charge?

Bonjour, We are a family campsite, pretty quiet, no entertainment on site, but a lot of activities in the area (visits of castle, villages, gardens, canoe on the river...) The Wifi is for free, only available in the bar / reception area. I hope that helps. Kind regards, Elodie

We stayed in a river facing tent but found it was in the shade all of the time so if you sat out you couldn’t be in the sun unless your chair was at the side or back of the tent. Preferred the meadow view especially the end one (near the field) on row A. Hope that helps
