Booked as an overnight stop. It doesn't look that tempting from outside but once in it was very comfortable. We had a double bedroom on the first floor which had a separate small lounge. Good size shower room and everything worked. It even had a kettle so we could make a cup of tea! No complaints and the staff were...

An extremely comfortable and friendly hotel. We were made to feel most welcome by the owners. Our dog was also welcome. The evening food is excellent! Nothing is too much trouble. There is a really nice bar area to relax.

As another has said, the hotel part of this establishment leaves something to be desired. On entry it gives the impression of a boarding house, a narrow, darkish corridor with a strong smell of cooking leads to a steep staircase. There are modern features like movement-sensitive lighting so the dark is short-lived. Our, not large, room's walls were covered in...

I really don't like writing a critical review but I do think the owners of this establishment should rethink their priorities and pay as much attention to the standard of their bedrooms as they do to their restaurant. We arrived at the hotel about 1.30 p.m. to find it closed. Fair enough, we were far too early to check in,...

We stopped here recently on our way back through France. It is just off the motorway and not too far from Cherbourg. The rooms are fine but not lavish and there is no lift so you do need to carry your own bags up. There is not a lot to do locally but we went into the town a few...

Conveniently situated just off the motorway, and just over two hours from the ferry port at Cherbourg, this charming hotel makes an excellent stop off on the route south. The welcome was warm, and the room comfortable and well presented. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped. However, the undoubted attraction of this hotel must be the excellent and beautifully...

We were travelling up to Caen for the night ferry and as we had a trailer di not want to park in Caen to get a meal. By chance we left the motorway at the last exit before a peage and came across Le Faison Dore. Although not quite opening time we were welcomed and asked if we had a...

As our usual stop near Argentan was closed for a week we chose to stay the night at Le Faisan Dore --- what a great decision. An excellent find. Superb dinner. Great service. We'll definitely return. Only issue was hard bed (Ibis are the standard !!)

We were looking for somewhere to stay after arriving on the evening ferry which would still be open. Although we arrived late we had a warm welcome, good service and a nice room. Breakfast was mostly self service but we were welcomed and shown how to use the coffee machine. The jars of jam were replenished before we had emptied...

very friendly staff, strongly recommended. The restaurant is great, the crepe with salmon is excellent. Also in the breakfast don't miss the orange marmalade. The rooms are not luxurious but you get a good sleep. more important is they are ready to help you .
