We stayed here at the beginning of our cycling trip through Andalusia. This huge old monastery has thick walls and echoing cloisters. All of our rooms were located on an upper hallway. We had trepidations when we saw our narrow doorway, partially enclosed in a niche at the end of the hall. Once inside, though, we were pleased. A small...

We stayed one night at this hotel on our way from and to Seville and Cordoba. The building itself is nice but it could do with a bit better maintainance; especially the gardens and pool area. It's tranquil and I slept really well. However the bedroom was a bit run down and smelly. Marvellous bathroom though; although I wouldn't recommend...

We stayed at Monasterio de San Francisco for 2 nights in July. It is ideally located between Seville & Cordoba and is an easy drive or train ride between these 2 cities. It is important to understand that this hotel is based in a converted monastery so it is a large rambling building has loads of character and charm but...

The Hotel Monasterio de San Francisco is located in Palma del Rio; roughly halfway between Seville and Cordoba and perhaps a little way off the regular tourist track, but well worth the visit. It was our intention to visit Castillo del Almodovar the following day and then continue on to Cordoba, so Palma del Rio provided a natural break point...

Very large, comfortable, updated guest rooms set in a historic monastery. Onsite dining facilities with well-prepared offerings. Good Wi-Fi in guest rooms and common areas. There were a significant number of stairs, and I didn't notice an elevator/lift. We handled our luggage on our own since we were physically able to do so and we had not seen any bellmen....

We arrived and our reservation had been canceled, after about 4 hours of trying to get to the bottom of the problem, Anna figured it out! The room she gave us was beautiful, large newly renovated bathroom, comfy bed, simply charming. the town itself was just okay and NOT a must stop, but we enjoyed walking around the orange tree...

When do you have the chance to sleep in a 500 year old building where once Franciscan monks lived and Christopher Columbus waited for Queen Isabella to open her coffers for his expedition to discover America. It’s quite an experience to walk and sleep between such history laden walls. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms marvellous with their marble floors,...

Though only listed as a 3 star, we found this hotel better than the 4 star hotels we stayed in in Cordoba and Seville. Lovely courtyards, spacious rooms, dining indoors and outdoors, copious buffet breakfast and a nice pool in a garden.

If you have had breakfast at this place paying 10.00 Euros per person you will know why the Monks left for a better pasture. The Breakfast table contains nothing. Few slices of a dried bread several days old, Cold coffee and warm juice and milk. Few slices of one cheese and ham from a pre-packed supermarket package and that´s it....
