Stayed a night in this hotel on my way to Belgium. Very convenient for the autoroute. The room was comfortable, and the Covid precautions were good. A little out of the way from the town centre but there is a tram stop (Chateau Rouge) about 10 minutes walk away which brings you into the main station.
I had a trip for business purpose and I was looking for an hotel with a good rate price / quality. This hotel met my objectives. Good price, not so far from train station and in the way to Belgium. I recommand
The hotel is located on an industrial estate, so there's little to do within walking distance. When having a shower, I found a maggot on the edge of the bath! My pull out bed was rather uncomfortable. On arrival we found that the hotel was being renovated and areas of the flooring had been removed, which left the floor uneven and this caused a member of my party to fall and hurt his knee, the receptionist wasn't even concerned to finish his phone call to investigate the matter. The yogurt had a expiration date of 16th October and today is 23rd! when will someone notice that they need throwing away! The staff generally have a "I can't be bothered attitude"
From the part finished refurbishment with wires poking out of the floor and the ceiling, the hard floors and metal furniture being scraped across them above you. The awful breakfast, The missing and broken fittings, stairways partially blocked with linen trolleys. There is absolutely nothing near it if you haven't got your own transport you are stuck. To sum up noisy expensive awful.
The hotel is on a business park and the area is not fantastic if walking due to few pavements (have to walk in the road). The rooms are pretty good with comfortable beds but no air conditioning, so when hot I tend to sit around in the Reception which is air conditioned. No kettle in the room but there is access to one for use in Reception. WIFI is rather spotty - it can be either bearable or really poor. There is a nice touch with the offered plate o croissants in reception but unfortunately they are exposed and liable to have flies on them (the use of a mesh food cover would be so easy to do). Most nights when I stayed there I was woken in the middle of the night due to alarms going off in nearby office buildings. This was made worse on hot nights as I had to have the window wide open.…
