There is nothing pretentious abut this hotel - it is 2 stars, old and facilities are basic. As others have mentioned it is like entering a time warp. Rooms are adequate, clean with wonderful views. There is a (cathode ray) TV. Shower is fine although it takes u to 5 minutes to get hot water, but when it arrives plentiful...

Many of the people using this hotel are doing so as part of a walking holiday as it is perfectly positioned in the mountains. After a long hike you arrive needing refreshment, hot water and some warmth (the nights can be cold up here even in May),hearty food and somewhere to relax. Does the Hotel Pomieri deliver on these things...

Hotel Pomieri is the only place for miles! High up in the beautiful Modonie Park, it's great location for walkers and provides basic but friendly and attententive service. When we arrived after a long day's walking Giacomo was to immediately to hand and a cold beer was poured pretty much as we walked through the door. Its isolated location and...

Described as a "simple hotel" this hotel was as simple or as sophisticated as you wanted it to be: The omni-present owner watched over the flunky dressed waiters and barman who in between times watched the huge television in the open plan reception/lounge/dining room etc (Giro Italiano) ... Food was delicious and artisan sicilian. The food's only pretentions were honesty...

A very basic hotel but perfectly clean and the beds were comfortable. We were the only people staying and had the undivided attention of the owner, the waiter, the barman and the chef! The food was the best of 4 hotels during our walking trip in the Madonie National Park - locally sourced and very fresh and tasty. On our...

Having spent all day walking in the mountains we were delighted to be greeted by a very friendly manager/owner(?) and to sit out on the terraces in the sun drinking in the magnificent views along with the cold lagers. Heavenly! The rooms are very basic (which we expected) and were just about clean enough (but don’t look too closely!). The...

The Pomieri is located in a remote area of the Madonie mountains of Sicily. Interior walls of knotty pine, many rooms have extra beds so you may be only 2 but have a room for 6. It's clean and the owner is welcoming but our guide reminded us that it is a two star hotel. No hair dryers, minimal lighting...

we stayed one night here while on a hiking tour. A rustic place, very much a ski chalet type, but friendly and comfortable. Dinner was really good and staff very attentive. It had rained that day and they offered to dry all our clothing which was most helpful

On a hiking tour in Madonie we stayed in Pomieri for 3 nights. There were no frills in regard to rooms, very basic. However it has unique location in the heart of the park with magnificent views, attentive personnel, very tasty food. No WiFi (which might be good for vacation) and not much English.

... the isolated location in the Madonie mountains, rustic ambience, quirky large dining and relaxing areas with many interesting Sicilian artifacts to enjoy, including traditional puppets, and old still and 7 different cow, sheep & goat bells,. Very good evening meals (Sicilian style set menus). Black night skies full of stars. Splendidly quiet. Staff welcoming and very helpful. Room basic...
