I am happy when I can write a positive review about a hotel, but sometimes it is important to be honest and let others know if there are deficiencies. In short the Smugglers Inn at Newquay Airport was simply not worth the money. Sadly there were many things lacking that one would ordinarily expect for the price... no soap or...

This was our second visit, again for just the one night. Friendly welcome, clean en-suite room at the front with a view to the Airport, quiet location and very comfortable beds. The Cornish Tea 'Smugglers Brew' and bottled water in the room were nice touches I was glad to find were still provided. As for breakfast - a wide choice...

I took my family to this local Restraunt paid over 50 my 8 year old boys burger was not cooked properly, cold in the middle and very pink and totally undercooked my wife's lager was smelling like eggs and tasted terrible. I never complain but on this occasion felt I had to to stop my boy being ill. My beef...

Clean and cosy with a warm Cornish welcome. Got a good night's sleep on a comfy mattress before flying back home to Dublin. Tranquil surroundings, nicely kept garden area, just birds and sheep and farmland.

Very friendly staff who could not do enough to help, food and drinks very good value for money and a great old thatched pub down a narrow country lane, all came quick and the pub side dog friendly too, recently opened a new pizza and pasta restaurant too towards the rear of the property

Called in for a meal at tea time. Room was not very welcoming. Meal for 6. Lasagne was as big as a child's portion, Brie was swimming in apricot sauce and burger was burnt and sent back. Will not be returning.

I have not got anything good to say about this place I am afraid apart from the bread which is bought in from Chough Bakery in Padstow. When you arrive it looks very run down and not at all inviting. We almost turned around to go and find somewhere else but as it was just for one night and we...

I should make it clear that this review and rating is as a pub only as we only went in for a couple of drinks, so I cannot comment on the food, nor the hotel side of the business Although it is a hotel serving mainly those going to or arriving at the nearby airport, it does advertise itself as...

We called in to watch the football match on the TV and were made very to feel very welcome, we didn't eat, only had snacks and drinks, but the food I saw other people eating looked very good. The staff were very friendly and the place had a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a small hotel/B&B just 2 minutes walk from Newquay Airport, providing accommodation for business and holiday customers. We offer good food and drinks to residents and non residents. We are but a 5 minute drive from Watergate Bay (home of Jamie Oliver's Fifteen) and Mawgan Porth, and just 10 minutes from the A30, and from Newquay & 20 minutes from Padstow. We are about 30 mins from Eden Project, and within easy reach of all of Cornwall's attractions. We are on the Western Greyhound 556 route which links the airport and the train station in Newquay to Padstow and many places in between. We are also just 6 or 7 minutes from St Column Major where the National Express coaches pull in. So all in all we can boast about being pretty central for most of Cornwall. ... more   less
