Gorgeous spacious modern villas with everything you might possibly need, great views of the golf course, excellent facilities, our breakfast was included and we also had free drinks per person daily, lovely restaurant on site and stunning walks around the area. The service at the reception was particularly attentive and friendly, absolute pleasure to deal with prior and during our stay. Please do not change!

My husband and I spent two nights at Bangalay Villas in a golf course view room. We ate a 3 course dinner each night. One dinner was eaten at the on site restaurant and the other dinner was delivered to our room (we cooked the prepared main in the oven) .

The Villas are relatively new and beautifully designed. Sixteen villas are separated by beautiful spacious boardwalks and landscaped native gardens. The villas are a short walk to the beach and to some small convenience shops.

Our 1 bedroom villa was spacious and well maintained with a separate bedroom , full kitchen, dining table, lounge area , modern bathroom with shower and a sunny and private wooden deck. A beautiful cane beach basket and beach towels were thoughtfully provided for use. The complimentary treats of wine, chocolates and bread were very much appreciated.

Some things I found disappointing. White towels and white robes always ooze luxury. Sadly our hand towel had a large hole in it and the once fluffy robes were rather worn out and a bit tatty. This sounds a bit picky ,however , when the villas come with a luxury price tag small details matter.

The breakfast was found to be inadequate for two adults and this was discussed upon checkout.

The 3 course dinner delivered to our room was underwhelming.
Given that the meal was delivered to our room late afternoon it would have been sensible for the food ( particularly the salad and the fish ) to be covered in order to maintain freshness. The 3 course dinner eaten in the restaurant was tasty and restaurant staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food they were serving.

All the staff at the villas were friendly and attentive and it was lovely to chat with Amanda.

We did enjoy our stay at Bangalay Luxury Villas. They are beautiful villas but personally we found them to be overpriced.
We wish you all the best.

Dear Willisalann, Thank you for the review, and complementary feedback about the restaurant experience and villas. We always appreciate constructive feedback such as what you have provided. On the South Coast we only have access to Alsco to provide our linen service, we pay for the premium service so will take your feedback regarding the linen up with them as it is not acceptable that there would be a hole in any of our towels and the robes should be of a higher standard than described. We will work with our food and beverage team to improve our continental breakfast and in room dining offering, these are only a new offing since reopening in June so feedback is very welcome, normally the entree and salad would have plastic covering. Our mid week 2-3 night Dinner bed and breakfast package is $465 - $485 per night with daily housekeeping, we have had over 50 guests stay on this package in the 6 weeks it has been offered and have had a lot of positive feedback about the value. It would be lovely to have you return to Bangalay some time in the future. Michelle

We loved our stay at Bangalay Villas! There were so many special touches which made us feel welcome and at home. We received an exquisite welcome pack and daily breakfast box - the room was spotless and exceptionally well designed to provide every convenience you could want or need. We had a dinner at Bangalay Dining and it really was wonderful - cocktails, vegetarian options for me and options for my daughter as well as impeccable service. During our stay, we walked along the beach, rode the bikes that were supplied, ate at the local clubs and spent some days further afield at Berry, Huskisson and Kiama. We loved overlooking the golf course, walking along the boardwalks to our room and getting cosy by the gas fireplace. A wonderful mini break for our family of 3.

Bangalay Villas is not a winter mid week destination. Sorry. The complex is beautifully designed and appointed, however, don't bother going on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. The restaurant is closed (and it was the middle of the NSW school holidays and the car park was full), the 'hamper' breakfast was dreadful and in house dinner ($65 each) was basic at best. At $450 per night to put your head on a pillow is simply taking advantage of the good will of city folk trying to support our regional districts recover from bush fires and Covid. Wait until summer, go later in the week and say no thank you to the hamper breakfast and drive into Berry instead.

Dear tlm20202020, Im dissapointed to read your review as it implies you did not enjoy your stay with us. We have been at close to full capacity with guests for the past few weeks since travel restrictions were lifted and most people have really enjoyed a winter break on the South Coast. Our local wineries, bush walks, golf course and proximity to berry have all been attractions but many people have opted to stay close to the villas and enjoy a cosy evening by the fire. Bangalay Dining is open weekdays from 8-12 for coffee and for dinner Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. We have lunch service available on Saturday and Sunday nights. We do a lot to try to communicate our dining options with guests before they arrive so that expectations are set. When we planned to reopen once travel restrictions were eased on the 1st of June we needed to work out how we could best accommodate our potential visitors without having any forward bookings for all of Winter. We decided to do the 4 nights in the restaurant but offer home style 3 course dinner options for the Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights as we are aware that there are very few other options available and that in winter people may be less incline to want to travel too far, committing to this without forward bookings could have been a big risk to our business if we had not received the bookings we did. We are very open to feedback and are constantly reviewing how we can best accommodate our guests. As we are seeing a high volume of guests return we can look at increasing our restaurant offering. We really appreciate that you are trying to support the south coast post fires and covid and are disappointed that we did not meet your expectations. We have been constantly reviewing our procedures and service offerings in the 8 weeks we have been reopened. Every aspect of our business has had to change to accommodate covid safe practices and the unseasonal high demand for our accommodation during these winter months with very short notice from the government that we were able to start receiving guests again has obviously left us falling short. Michelle

We had a mix up with our booking which almost turned into a disaster, but the Bangalay team literally moved mountains to ensure we were looked after. They were incredibly gracious and hospitable.
The villas are bright, airy with a pared back aesthetic and perfectly stocked with all the essentials. The bar and restaurant is a great place to kick back for a sundowner, and the pool. is crisp and refreshing. The big swaying gumtrees, close proximity to the sand and clean air is unbeatable. Owners, Michelle & Tom have established a real gem, supported by a small army of great staff - particularly Carla & Amanda who were just amazing.
Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome.
We can't wait to come back!

Last night I spent the evening at Bangalay Luxury Villas. What a lovely surprise this was. The property has been beautifully designed you are intriged from the onset as you head down the board walk to your villa.

Accomodation was spotlesslesly clean and there are plenty of little treats and surprises in the room. A substantial breakfast was placed in the fridge, and a selection of pastries was tastfully placed in a bread bin on the bench top. I have experience as a trained pasty chef so I was initially a little sceptical about eating pastries that were not freshly baked that morning. I need not have been concerned, we heated the croissants and cinnamon scrolls in the oven and everything was delicious.

The property has a really lovely dining area near to the swimming pool. Everything is new and very beautifully laid out. The gardens are also immaculate. This would be a perfect place for a group of golfers. I thoroughly enjoyed a late afternoon drink gazing down the fairway from the deck of my villa.

There are plenty of small towns nearby to explore. The beach is a stones throw away and I would highly recommend a visit to the nearby Two Figs Winery, it has the most incredible view of the area and the bottles of port would make a great gift for anybody.

We paid $1000 per night for this place thinking it would be one of the best hotels we have ever been in, but it turned out we were wrong. Firstly the smoke alarm was ripped from the bedrooms, this was very unsafe and even illegal. When we asked for free checkout extension which is usually done by hotels free of cost as a way to delight customers we were asked for extra $50 an hour even though we were paying $1000 a night! That was something that this hotel did not show us, it wasn’t appreciative of its customers, they didn’t do anything above and beyond to meet the price tag for this place. There was only one bathroom for two bedrooms which made it inconvenient as we were 4 people. The shower in the bathroom was also poorly laid out as there were not glass panes to stop water from getting everywhere. This meant that any time someone had a shower it was impossible to use the bathroom afterwards because there was water everywhere. They didn’t let us in the room till the last minute of the check in time even though we were only half an hour early. After all what could they do in half an hour? A place like this should be ready for their customers and not leave them waiting in the pool area on the sun for half an hour. We could not even sit in the restaurant as it was closed even though we arrived on a Tuesday, it said that it would’ve been open for that day. We didn’t even decide to eat there as it looked more like a Breakfast place rather than a nice dinner place. A good thing was that they provided us with breakfast box, but all it had was bread and croissants without any proper wrapping, very unhygienic. They did provide with complementary chocolates and tea which was a really nice touch. The cutlery was dirty and rusted which did not make us very happy with the cleaning services. The location of this place was also very poor. It took 10 minutes to go to a place to eat which was not the hotels restaurant, and we had to do that for the first night as the restaurant was not open then, which I mentioned before. All in all, it was a disappointing hotel and would not recommend it to others, instead stay near Kiama which is a very nice area, and you would get better deals for a cheaper price.

Dear tripad438, Im sorry you didnt enjoy your experience staying at Bangalay. We go to a lot of effort on our website and social media to provide floor plans and images of the villas so that people can set their expectations about what we are offering. Our 2 bedroom villas are designed to be fully accessible for people with mobility issues. We strongly support the right for people of all mobility to enjoy travel which is why the bathrooms are laid out in the way they are. The bathrooms all feature floor heating which when used keeps the floors dry. The villas also have all the features of a holiday house with the bonus of daily housekeeping, breakfast hampers delivery to the bread hamper and fridge each daily and the use of a resort pool all while being situated between 7 mile beach and the Shoalhaven heads golf course. We go to a lot of effort to ensure villas a fully sanitized between each stay which is why we have check in times of 2pm and check out at 10am, the two bedroom villas in particular take a lot of time to prepare. This makes it difficult to have too much flexibility with early and late check ins unless arranged well in advance. To accommodate them we often need to add extra people to the roster to ensure the rooms can be turned around in time. Our restaurant is open each night and their are other nearby options in town including 3 wineries, a hotel, bowling club and options for take away. Berry is less than 10 minutes away with a huge rage of options. The villas are also fully self contained which provides our guests with a huge range of meal options for when they stay. Kiama has many terrific options, if you feel that the amenity provided there would provide you with a better holiday experience I would highly recommend staying there in future. Best regards, Michelle

Bangalay Luxury Villas certainly exceeded my expectations in terms of service, staff friendliness and helpfulness and cleanliness.

The property is well maintained and house keeping have a high attention to detail which I believe is essential for luxury accommodation. I am super impressed with how well the room was cleaned every day even after the sand my kids leave throughout the villa after a day out.

The staff at the front desk and restaurant are all very friendly and always up for a chat. The food at the restaurant was exceptional and I like how there is a breakfast session in the morning reserved for hotel guests.

The only tiny negative was the fly screens which may need some replacing. We had a dozen little flies at each of our down lights one evening because housekeeping had the windows left opened one day and we didn’t get back til late.

We found the Bangalay Luxury Villas to be of the highest standard. The location is excellent with direct access to a lifesaver patrolled beach as well as the pool on site and the adjoining golf course. The units are indeed luxurious and offer all you could ask for on a holiday. Michelle took a lot of time to answer any questions we had an ensure we had a great stay. The food at the restaurant at breakfast and at dinner was exceptional. We would definitely to back.
