We stopped only overnight, on a car trip from Halifax to Toronto, and were absolutely charmed. Francine, the host (please excuse me if I have the incorrect name) met us upon arrival, gave us a choice of room, and a little history of her lodge. It was charming, clean, and comfortable. There wasn't anything cookie cutter about it yet it had everything we could have wanted for our stay...comfortable bed, clean and well stocked kitchen, a sitting area, and television. Well-priced. I can't recommend it enough for a stopover if you're making this car trip. We will come back for a longer visit to explore the area and do a bit of hiking. A real gem.

Last week we had the good fortune to spend the night in the Marcel Le Boeuf room at Marchant de Bonne Heure. I have problems sleeping, but the sound of the small waterfall next to our room lulled me to sleep. The room itself is more like a suite with a very small kitchen/living space separating a small bedroom and large bathroom with tub and shower. The immaculate space was quite comfortable for two people. It is also very well-equipped. For example, I needed a pair of scissors and voilà. It would be easy to cook a small meal there, but we chose to have breakfast in the rotunda. It is truly a beautiful work of artistic construction.. There are 4 choices for breakfast. Ours were copious and delicious. The proprietors are kind and helpful people and we enjoyed chatting with them. If ever in the area again, we would definitely choose to stay there. Merci!

Wow. Definitely a gem of a find, as others have described! We were enroute to New Brunswick and booked Marchant de Bonne Heure because of its proximity to the Trans Canada and its excellent price, plus it looked lovely! And it certainly was. Extremely clean suite (and I'm picky) and beautiful, well-kept grounds. We enjoyed having drinks in the gorgeous rotunda with the cooking fireplace, as well as relaxing on the garden gliders. Other areas of the house and grounds are available for enjoying also; we simply didn't have enough time! We were on the ground floor which was handy for carrying our bags in. I think there are 2 suites downstairs, 4 upstairs (?). We will definitely stay at this lovely spot again if ever out that way again. Would love to explore the area. The owners are wonderful people, exceptional artists, and so kind and helpful. I accidentally left an item in the room and they called me very shortly after we had left - we decided to have it mailed home instead of going back to get it and it arrived safely home the same time we did.

I just recently returned from a trip to the east coast with my boyfriend and felt compelled to write a review. I've never stayed in a B&B type of accomodation before so was nervous that it wouldn't be as nice as a hotel. Man was I wrong! This place was absolutely amazing.

It's about an hour from old Quebec City, so the drive wasn't too bad. We got a room with a kitchenette (not sure if they all have them) and even a little sitting area separate from the bedroom. It was sort of rainy for the day/night we stayed so we didn't tour around the lot much, but there was a really nice little river that trickled around the house and there was a ton of places to sit outside. There was also a little fire pit available.

I would absolutely recommend this place to stay!

Booked for one night on trip to Nova Scotia and wished we could stay. Very gracious and friendly hosts. Gorgeous property, very comfortable and spacious room, mattress was comfortable, ample sitting areas inside and out, trails and water on property.

Like I say, we were only here for one night but are talking about going back and staying a few nights it was so lovely.

We stsyed here on our way to P.E.I. This B&B was so great, we cancelled a hotel reservation on our return route and stayed again. The owner, Francine was delightful. The grounds include a babbling brook and a lovely gazebo. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the Maritime provinces.

This is the type of place that is so perfect, you want to keep it to yourself. But it is so special, you have to tell others
This quiet Haven really delivers. Everything that is listed on their website is correct and then some.
We wanted a restful holiday in the south shore area of the St. Lawrence. We rented a cottage for an entire week and I could've stayed longer. It is close to museums, concerts, markets everything is within a one hour drive. We could visit Quebec city in the daytime and be back in our cottage for a beautiful supper and an evening by the fire.

We spent two days in a studio before the cottage was available so I can assure you that all the accommodations are exceptional. This is a perfect place for a peaceful escape or even for a group activity. I would not even hesitate to hold a wedding in that venue.
The site is accessible within minutes from the highway, yet you will not hear the noise or have the impression that you are close to the suburbs. There are more than ten hectares of private forest to hike.
The host have thought of everything you only need to bring your personal items.

I would caution anyone to follow the instructions from their website. Exit the highway at exit 400 and you are there within five minutes. Do not attempt to feed that address in your GPS.
Village names have been altered so often that you may be misguided by any global positioning system you carry.

This beautiful place has become my rest stop of choice in all my future travels to the East coast.

I did a quick Expedia search while traveling and on the road for a month, I was looking for a place with a kitchen. I had no idea what I was about to encounter as I arrived at this bucolic place. I booked one of the studios. It was like having big a room inside a handmade villa à la Québec...the attention to detail and the craftsmanship that went into this place screams the word love, and I was listening. I heard it loud and clear. How else can I extol the virtues of this heaven on earth? Not possible. Go, visit, stay, meet the incredible family of artists, musicians, creators of happiness and joy behind this treasure. I felt welcomed with open arms. As I hugged Francine goodbye, I hope in her heart she knew what a difference she made to me, my journey and my life...I am so glad she agreed to a photo with me so that I can remember her always.

Loved staying in this lovely location, right next to a picturesque River. Lots of seating around the pond, a little swimming area. The room was comfortable and clean, with a little kitchenette. Small shower, but lot of hot water. Perfect for our family of three.
