It was cheap, no hot water. It was very old fashioned if you like architecture. Nicely decorated. Sturdy old time furniture. We could hear the music from the bar in our room but it wasn't too loud. The people were nice. There was an issue with the window and they helped us quickly and got it fixed. Great deals in the bar for happy hour if you like that sort of thing. And, had slot machines too. Good enough for us for one night.

The room was clean and spacious enough for a budget hotel room. We were at the far end of the hall so we heard nothing from the bar. Common fridge, microwave and coffee pot right outside of our door. However, the wifi did not work at that end of the hall. The address did not show up on any of our gps units so just get onto main street and drive until you see it on the north side of the road. The building across the street was getting it's roof resealed and the crew started at 6:30 am. I know this is not the usual but very annoying for us on our stay.

Room Tip: North end - no bar noise but also no wifi. So choose North or South.

Very clean and quaint rooms and surprisingly quiet, even with the tavern downstairs. We enjoyed a great breakfast in the cafe at the hotel. The hotel owners were very friendly and looked after our needs. We would definitely stay again.

Yes from the outside being an older building doesn’t look much and the lobby feels a little outdated but the room was really nice modern and comfortable I was surprised and very comfortable.

The bed was comfortable had a great sleep, bathroom was spacious and clean I did notice that the room has the feeling that time has stopped they’ve put fought into the rooms modern and clean but the furniture has the feel of being restored which is really good.

The only small downside was no fridge in the room or microwave but they do have a fridge and microwave in the hallway to use.

Worst service I have ever had. Room was not as advertised, amount and sizes of beds incorrect. Filthy and tons of things broken, mold in bathroom etc. Family room is right over the bar and the crazy loud music rocks the beds all night. Staff are basically unavailable at any time of day unless you get bar staff to go find them out smoking. Asked that a manager call me back and they never did. Can not get them to answer their phones or return my calls now. Would not recommend.

Room was dirty, Toilet dirty, no heating working and the no hot water in the bathroom taps, The whole place looked grim. Very noisy at night with music from, possibly the tavern. At least 3-4 trains passed by at night as well which were very loud. Looked like a hotel in a third world country!

Very poor service, would not recommend! Too high price for what you get, not very clean, old soap and not many towels. Have to check in at the bar so if any problems or questions then have to deal with at bar hours. Hotel on Main Street which was nice for shopping and eating that’s about the only good thing

Stayed for one night. The room was very clean and quaint. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room faced the street. Some older decor but comfortable enough queen bed. I’d stay again. The hotel has a good bar attached to it and a little restaurant. Good place to stay for someone who likes a little more adventure and fine If you’re just passing through.

We booked on a Friday night for a Saturday night stay (we stayed the 11th of August) - other hotels and B&Bs were booked and unavailable. We were going to Blairmore to play the golf course Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. I was quite concerned about what this place would be like from the 2 previous reviews.

Turns out we would stay in this hotel again.

To be clear this is an old school tavern, a brick building. As I rate this hotel it is not being rated against a Holiday Inn or a Sandman. I am rating the hotel based on comfort, cleanliness and price paid. I certainly did not expect to find underfloor heating in the bathroom or "hotel" decor.

The lobby is at the back of the pub area and smells like a tavern (beer and whatever else makes up that smell, I'd rather not dissect the smell). We checked in at 9:45 pm and it was just fine. The guy checking us in was friendly and helpful. This is a decidely low tech place with our reservation written in a book and our receipt hand written as well. Nonetheless check in was quick and painless.

We were assigned room 209, second floor furthest away from the pub. This is a small room with a queen bed, one bedside table and lamp and on the otherside a table with coffee machine and coffee and suger etc. The window looked out to the side street where we parked our chariot. There was an air conditioner in one window - it worked fine and the other window opened. There was a desk, chair and lamp at the other end of the room and a fine bathroom. Tub, toilet and sink were in good repair and clean.

Sheets and towels were white and in good repair. The towels were nice and soft.

In my opinion carpets and comforters in hotel rooms are always sketchy. I am suspect of all of them no matter how classy the hotel. No exception here. Though to be honest they did not appear dirty or worn.

I do understand that people travelling on business expecting a certain level of hotel would be disappointed in this hotel, and it is not a romantic getaway location either, but for a couple looking for an inexpensive place to stay for golf or other activities I can recommend it.

Had reservation but after walking past shady characters smoking on steps and checking into bar where one was to get room info, I asked to see room. Hallways dingy and smelled of smoke and all rooms had doors open- no other guests. I did not feel comfortable leaving motorcycle behind hotel and asked to cancel reservation. It did appear clean.
