We stayed here for 2 nights and had booked their cottage no. 17 for 5 of us. This was huge and had eight beds, two bathrooms, a large living room and kitchen. Outside also there was area to sit and have food. The inside furnishings...More
We enjoyed several nights at Kimi Ora Eco Resort. We loved the views from our 2 decks and from the dining room (great breakfasts and nice though limited dinner menu). We particularly enjoyed the glow worm cave walk (right from the property near the main...More
We stayed here for 2 nights and were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the weather was very inclement and pretty much everything in Kaiteriteri seems to shut down when the sun goes in (water taxis, mini golf, horse riding etc). The indoor pool isn't heated in April...More
We had an amazing time at Kimi Ora Eco Resort. Excellent locaton close to town, and great access to Abel Tasman. Staff were lovely and helpful in booking activities for us. Grounds of the resort have gorgeous views and the glow worm walk was unbelieveable....More
Eco friendly resort, great views, friendly staff. Outdoor and Indoor pool with hot tub and sauna, family friendly. Slightly dated rooms and amenities and the family room we were in was quite small. However v clean and quite functional.

There are bus/shuttle services that go from Nelson to Kaiteriteri. I didn't use it as we had a car when staying there, but they are daily and most likely more than 1 a day from various companies. Once you've booked your accommodation, I would suggest you contact the resort directly and ask them to either advise you which company to use, best way to get to them or they may even be able to organise a transfer for you from Nelson. They were very helpful and lovely to deal with when we stayed there.
Its a short walk from the main beach up to the resort although not the easiest with luggage.
A beautiful part of the country and you can get water taxis from the main beach up into the National Park for day trips if required. So you can see a lot without needing to have a car (as long as you are able to walk short distances).
I can recommend sea kayaking in the area and an overnight stay at the Awaroa Lodge near the top of the park if you want to spend a bit of time walking some of the tracks. There are plenty of day trip options too where you can visit some lovely beaches, and seal colonies and do some walks.

Hi. Kimi Ora Resort is about an hour from Nelson I am unsure of the buses that go to Kaiteriteri as we have never had to use them. The other alternative is to hire a car for a couple of day's. That will give you the freedom to look around a bit & you will want to as it's a beautiful part of the country.
