Gorgeous views over the beach, quick walk to the beach as well as cafe, and Kaiteriteri Kayaks where we did the Big Tonga kayak day tour. Kimi Ora is set on a hill above the road and our room included a living, dining area, kitchenette,...More
Beautiful, peaceful, quiet, well located, ecological, delicious (we LOVED your bircher muesli and vegetarian dinners!!!!), professional and friendly. We only have compliments to make about Kimi Ora! Thank you to all the staff, in particular "Charlie's angels" :-) at reception (Diane, Suzie and Rita) who...More
Very clean and friendly resort. The rooms have great personality and Room 2 had a great view of the Harbour. Breakfast was delicious and healthy. Wished we could have spent more time relaxing at this resort.
We recently stayed at the Kimi Ora and found it to be excellent in every way. The room was spacious and very clean. The view was absolutely stunning. Rather than stay in Nelson, we decided to come to the Kimi Ora to be closer to...More

There are bus/shuttle services that go from Nelson to Kaiteriteri. I didn't use it as we had a car when staying there, but they are daily and most likely more than 1 a day from various companies. Once you've booked your accommodation, I would suggest you contact the resort directly and ask them to either advise you which company to use, best way to get to them or they may even be able to organise a transfer for you from Nelson. They were very helpful and lovely to deal with when we stayed there.
Its a short walk from the main beach up to the resort although not the easiest with luggage.
A beautiful part of the country and you can get water taxis from the main beach up into the National Park for day trips if required. So you can see a lot without needing to have a car (as long as you are able to walk short distances).
I can recommend sea kayaking in the area and an overnight stay at the Awaroa Lodge near the top of the park if you want to spend a bit of time walking some of the tracks. There are plenty of day trip options too where you can visit some lovely beaches, and seal colonies and do some walks.

Hi. Kimi Ora Resort is about an hour from Nelson I am unsure of the buses that go to Kaiteriteri as we have never had to use them. The other alternative is to hire a car for a couple of day's. That will give you the freedom to look around a bit & you will want to as it's a beautiful part of the country.
