Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Pembroke Arms for 2 nights and overall we were delighted with all aspects of the hotel, including the cost, which we thought was very reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was lovely, very clean and had tea and coffee making facilities. Great that fresh milk was supplied as were biscuits. Beds were comfy. We usually book a twin room when we stay in a hotel as we're never sure how comfy the mattress will be in a double and we are very different weights! Although our room looked out on to the main road running through Wilton, the traffic noise did not disturb us. The en-suite bathroom was clean and was well stocked with shampoo etc. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. My husband had the full English both mornings and I had the veggie breakfast on our first morning and porridge and then scrambled eggs on toast the second. All freshly cooked and served with a smile. There is plenty of parking and outdoor seating, where you can enjoy a drink or a meal from the pizza restaurant there. Wilton itself is a quaint village and the hotel is easy to find. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again if we're in the area.

I must have passed this place countless times over the years travelling west, fancied a day in Salisbury and having a chance of a child & dog free night we jumped at opportunity, no hotels in Salisbury appealed but looking a bot further afield The Pembroke Arms caught my eye & we were very glad it did.
The staff were welcoming on a very wet windy Sunday afternoon, our room although fronting a main road was quiet & the traffic noise was not intrusive, massive bed, soft mattress which I don't normally like but this one was surprisingly comfortable, bathroom large & clean, proper filter coffee which is a nice touch & fresh milk if required.
Food in the bar was great top end of cost for a pub but the room was good value, the food was hot, well presented & good sized portions ( well done on the cauliflower cheese not overcooked & not watery) Beer was well kept & tasty.
What appeared to be a artic grade duvet was a bit over the top but better to be warm than cold.
Breakfast was excellent eggs cooked exactly as requested.
All in all a very enjoyable stay & we are looking to soon.

A good find with plenty on its doorstep.
Stayed for two nights on a week long trip. Double bedroom with en suite. Wardrobe consisted of two three pronged hooks, which was more than enough for our day to day clothes. Very clean and perfect for short stay at reasonable prices. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts delicious and plentiful, didn’t think about lunch, which isn’t normal. Evening meals available, we ate on first night from the outside grill under cover with heating which, although used due to the pandemic seems a good addition. Plenty of tasty beers and wines to choose from. As things are slowly changing I believe the breakfast room will also become the restaurant again during the evenings. Plenty of parking with section reserved for hotel guests. Stonehenge 20 minutes by car, Salisbury £4 adult return on frequent bus service from just round corner. Plenty of eating places to choose from, just remember to look on line for booking visiting times for attractions, though they seem to have plenty of availability now schools are returning.

A good welcome from this little hotel. An attractive Georgian building with good interior features.
We had the Queen’s Bedroom on the second floor, all very clean and and comfortable, the foot board of the bed sticks out somewhat so don’t knock your leg on it, as we did four times!
We descended for a cup of tea and piece of cake, ‘No, we don’t do cake’ was the curt reply from the lady. We went outside for an ice cream where takeaway pizzas are baked, here were two very pleasant young men.
Dinner was very good, I asked the waitress if I could have the Rib-eye, she said to have the sirloin roast for tenderness. It was excellent.
Sleep quality fair, a busy road but good secondary glazing to cut 85%. To be fair we don’t sleep that well on stop-overs.
Breakfast, an odd affair with the onslaught of Crazy-Covid, therefore NO buffets.
Cooked options only, porridge as well but no fruit, thick cut sourdough toast bread .
All in all a very useful bolt hole and we will definitely use this place again on our way to the local auction room.
Helpful staff but do get a pack of chocolate digestives in to go with a nice brew!

The Pembroke Arms is very near the village centre and Wilton house. Easy to find, and great free car parking.
It's a bit quirky (in a nice way). It's a big old house with just a few rooms, so no big fancy reception etc. Rooms are upstairs. I saw no lift so not sure it's so good for those with mobility problems. Although everything including the rooms are quite old, the rooms are fine with old furniture and rooms have some theme to them. Great bathroom with plenty of towels and decent quality toilet paper! (unusual these days). Very VERY comfy bed, TV, posh teas & coffee, even chocolate bars. The hotel is next to a busy road, so although insulated, some rooms will have traffic noise in the morning, but not too bad.
Due to Covid rules the restaurant was shut in the evening, but who cares? The BBQ and bar in the gardens are just wonderful. Plenty of cover in case of rain, great in evening sunshine. The hotel has a policy of sourcing locally wherever possible, so local beers, and even a fantastic English wine from not that far away (Danebury). Lots of home made pizzas, and they are completely home made, but also steaks and fish etc. Almost everything is served with their home made flat-bread. It IS home made as I saw the sacks of flour being delivered. Everything is sensibly priced. I'd come here just to eat and drink! However I think outside eating is only on certain days of the week. You'd need to check.
It's not exactly cheap, but certainly not "high end", and it's not a plush hotel with lots of services and everything "deluxe". But if you want somewhere interesting, but with good quality accommodation, this fits the bill. I will certainly be back next time in the area.

The Pembroke Arms experience was welcoming from the start. The room was very comfortable (including an excellent tea tray with fresh milk in a vacuum flask) and decorated attreacyively and with humour. The whole atmosphere is quite homely (if you live in a beautiful spacious Georgian style home with period furniture and log firs in the winter). Excellent breakfast and overall very good value. I woudl certainly stay again when in the area.

I was told that this place was a good place to eat so decided to give it a go along with my girlfriend. I have to say that other than the manager giving me a refund without question I was left very dissapointed. The menu came to the table on a sheet of soggy A4 paper. If this is standard or just a Sunday menu I have no idea. We were both very hungry so ordered the large lamb roast for approximately £28. Firstly the lamb was brought to the table swimming in gravy, a couple of potatoes and an overly crusty yorkshire. Then came the Veg which I honestly couldnt believe. The Veg was the bare mimimum portion brought to us in what looked to be a standard breakfast bowl. The bowl of veg was so small that it was obviously a portion for one and they were about to bring out another bowl. WRONG it was actually for both of us, although the Vegetables were nice this was a portion for one child. Then we came to try the lamb, well what can I say. It was that tough and chewy I was almost having a fight with it at the table. Ive never had lamb that bad in my life, the phrase mutton dressed as lamb springs to mind. Honestly how difficult is it to cook a nice joint of lamb. Chef ramsey would blown a fuse in this place, I certainly wont be returning.

I'm really sorry you had a bad experience eating with us. I genuinely am. Sadly, sometimes it happens but I feel the need to reassure you that it wasn't personal. You were just the unlucky guest. When Jon noticed that you had a bad experience, he voided the whole bill and you left without paying a thing. There is literally nothing more we could have done to make your experience any better, with the exception of going back in time and changing what was put on your plate. Normally when something like this happens we invite the guest back for dinner on us as a means for us to rectify our previous wrongs. In this case, I'm so glad it wasn't offered to you. TripAdvisor can sometimes bring out the worst in people and at the same time provide a vehicle for individuals to inflict misery on others. Your review (along with your previous) is case in point. Next time may I suggest you either stay at home or inflict your presence on KFC instead. We're all much happier without you. Have a wonderful week, and please keep smiling. Ethan x

We had a stunning weekend stay at The Pembroke Arms, we were warmly looked after from start to finish by the attentive team at the pub. We ate accomplished, well- balanced dishes from the main kitchen on our first night, and basked in the sun for much of our second day in the orchard. They have an amazing sourdough pizza kitchen, where we ate Neapolitan style pizzas with the finest British toppings. My boyfriend also ate from the outdoor garden kitchen, where local meats, fish and vegetables are cooked over fire in the magical walled garden. The room was well designed and offered everything we could ever need, the freshly baked cookies were a class touch also. Could not recommend the place more, we will definitely be coming back in the winter, to enjoy a cosy pint or 3 on the sofas in front of the fireplace.

To start with the pub is in a lovely place and the grounds are also very well presented and kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful also. We got taken to our large family room that consisted of two double beds and a large en-suite bathroom that had a shower. The beds were very comfortable. The lady left us with lovely fresh cookies wrapped up and a flask of milk, you have facilities to make tea and fresh ground coffee in you room with all the elements to do so in a basket, I enjoyed the cookie with my coffee. The decoration of the rooms are kept within the keeping of this very old pub so expect neon lights and TV’s that come out of headboards 😂 The room was spotlessly clean and warm enough with the ability to switch the heating on in your room if required. We then went on to enjoy an excellent Sunday roast in the restaurant part of the pub, not only was this very very tasty, but also loads of it too. My son then had sticky toffee pudding which was to die for too 😋. The bar is very well stocked with various spirits and beers too, we enjoyed the comfortable seating in the bar area with a candle on our table to sit back relax and enjoy our drinks near to the open fire. The next morning we had breakfast…..again it was superb quality and very large 😂 fed us for the day let’s put it that way. It is near to Salisbury and the racecourse as in 5 minutes easy drive. My son is at blandford for the next few months and so we look forward to returning here to try what looks amazing in the pizza and cocktail barn to the rear👍

I adored staying at the Pembroke Arms for a Wedding. We were there for 3 nights and had a very comfortable stay. Lots of lovely touches such as fresh cookies & milk and glass bottles of water in your room everyday and very nice shampoo etc. The staff were fantastic, an excellent breakfast (option of cooked breakfasts, eggs Benedict etc as well pastries, granola, cereals) included and other food in the pub all great. Surrounding area is beautiful and will definitely stay again!

Yes we do. We have one twin bedded room but also have a large family room that have two beds in it so could be used as a twin. It may be a little more expensive though.

Yes. We do have a lovely garden though please be note that we do not serve meals there as it is too far from our kitchen.

Hello
I am afraid we don't have any rooms on the ground floor you mentioned, a lift/elevator.
If you get in touch with us with dates of travel, we could check which rooms we have available on the first floor if this is suitable.
