We spent a week here for a surf and yoga retreat. What an amazing place without a moment of feeling bored. The hotel is uber clean, peaceful and the best food you'll find in most of the country. All the staff went out of their way to accommodate everyone in the retreat and was always smiling and kind. Our retreat...

I was part of a week-long trip tribe yoga/surf getaway in February. It was amazing! Vickie and Sergio were great hosts. We were a larger group and they were very accommodating. As was the rest of the staff, especially when we all showed up all at once to order drinks - definitely try the passion fruit daiquiri if you go!...

Santa Catalina is a small surf town with lots of options for as small as it is. Hotel Santa Catalina is run by a fabulous couple that know a lot about the area. The rooms are nice and the beds were comfortable and adequately air conditioned. Surfing is a must and the hotel runs a surf shop/lessons on site. They...

Vicki and Sergio are fantastic hosts, and the rest of the staff is great. Rooms are nice and location is fabulous. WiFi is spotty, but vacation shouldn't be spent on your phone or laptop. Access to paddle boarding and kayaking is great.

Thank you for your stay at Hotel Santa Catalina, and we appreciate you taking the time to write a review. During the last few weeks the internet service provider Cable & Wireless Mas Movil has had some technical difficulties which is why the service has not been very consistent, but we consulted with the customer service at Cable & Wireless...

I stayed here for a week in February 2017. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious, and the views were beautiful. The beach right at the property is rock, but at high tide you can paddleboard. A really nice sand beach is within easy walking distance just down the road. If you are considering this area for a trip,...

My daughter and I were on a tour of Costa Rica and Panama, seeking out remote areas. This hotel was absolutely charming considering where we were. We were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially Michelle. The room was more than acceptable, with a fascinating stone and flat rock décor. Bed comfy, very clean. Only issue for me is...

Regarding seating, we have ordered more comfortable chairs for the terrace areas in front of the rooms, so next time you should have more comfy chairs to sit in! Normally you will get what you have paid for. I have travelled a lot and have been to remote places. So when i have to pay 90 dollars a night in Panama without breakfast it should be top notch. But it was a big dissapointment. The pool is nice, just like the bathroom. But the rest of the room gives...

Thank you for your review. To clarify the points you mentioned: 1. Prices: if you compare us to other comparable ocean front hotels around Santa Catalina (and the region in general) with swimming pools facing top surf breaks, that include full back up power generator, free bike use, free kayaks, free SUP, free surfboards, free body boards, free skateboards, free...

The hotel is located right in front of La Punta surf break (rock bottom) and you can walk to Estero Beach (sand bottom beach break) in a few minutes. The pool is right in front of the restaurant and overlooks La Punta. In addition to the restaurant onsite there are many other delicious restaurants within a short walk, many run...

Great staff, very helpful. Super comfortable mattresses. Kid friendly, beautiful grounds and pool. Best view of the surf break, and best access to the surf break. Highly recommended for those who can afford the price.
