Travellers' Choice
Gian Paul is a small hotel immersed in greenery and silence, with descent to the sea. The feeling of being in a beautiful home, large rooms, very nice shabby furniture. La terrazza on the sea also offers the chance to soak up the Sun in an exclusive way, perhaps sipping an aperitif.

My stay at Gian Paul hotel was magical!nothing beats the feeling of feeling at home thousands of miles away. Its location is ideal because it’s very close to the sea side and there is a panoramic street with nature. The breakfast on the rooftop with the view of Portofino is exceptional.very easy to reach places like cinque terre,Portofino!stuff was very nice and a clean place.i surely left a piece of my heart at Gian Paul hotel,I’d recommend it to anyone.

When shabby chic isn't well kept it gets simply shabby, and that's how I'd describe this hotel. For such a price, dust and cigarette butts in flower pots are no go. The rooftop terrace for breakfast boasts an incredible view of the Ligurian sea, however its old furniture and untidiness spoil the overall impression. Gian Paul seems to be a hotel that used to be posh some time ago but now it needs both proper cleaning and renovation. It would be also great if there were more options for breakfast with, preferably, individual mini butter and jam packs. The good points are its surroundings and proximity to the beach as well as friendly and helpful staff.

Even though I was here on business, hard to imagine in such a beautiful place, this is only the second hotel I’ve ever been in the world where at the end of every day, remember I was working, it felt like home. Meralina and Fabio couldn’t do enough for us. Gian Paul hotel is super chilled I’ve definitely left a little piece of my heart here. I look forward to visiting it next time Grazie di tutto Spike

We were there for 3 nights, primarily because of the coastline and the close distance to the expo Milano. We found a nice and stylish (I think every room has been designed differently) room with outside bathroom (next door basically) in a 3 floor building with private parking and a open garden with nice/beautiful outside furniture. Also the distance to the sea is as close as 5 min. Furthermore, they make a nice breakfast on the rooftop with direct view to the sea. Also the owners give good vacation advice! I think its good for singles and couples who want to stay at a calm place. Some shops and bars are near, but the next bigger towns (Lavagna/Chiavari or Sestri Levante) which are more touristic or simply busier are to be reached by some form of transportation (Scooter rental is near, but ask the owner!). Also the cinque terre on the one side or the beautiful towns of Zoagli or Portofino (luxurious bay...) are as close as c. one hour (car or the like). Sports situation is also good, as this region starts to get hilly (running/trail), traffic is low (maybe Bike, no info for MB Trails) and water is close! Oh, WLAN is free and best at the receptions (desks available) To sum up, If I ever go to this region again, I would prefer and recommend Gian Paul Hotel again!
