A family of 13 rented July 2016 and this was so nice. Just 30 minutes away from Reykjavic and many great sights including the Golden Circle. This House has everything for a family or small group. Very accessible and convenient. The owners are great and very thorough in the preparation of the property. Thank you Jona and Margarit for your...

Ideal place to stay if you're looking for a simple, low-cost, clean and comfortable place near Reykjavik. We stayed here at the beginning of our trip round route 1, and stayed again at the end of our trip as it was an ideal location to get to the airport the next day. The owner Jona made us feel very welcome,...

Upon arriving at this guesthouse after a week of traveling through Iceland, we were a bit hesitant because the wall around the gueshouse is in need of repair, and the place has a somewhat spooky look. We had the house all to ourselves, so no one else was there upon our arrival, which added to the feeling that maybe we...

Quick review. We stayed there two nights one week apart. It is all right. It could be cleaner. The owner is laid back and friendly. Rooms are big enough. Bed is comfortable enough. The kitchen is small but functional. I've seen much better in Iceland. Fitjar Guesthouse comes to mind in the same area (it's awesome). But hey, it was...

Like many others, we stayed here the night before flying out early the next morning. We wanted a lower cost alternative to expensive Reykjavik hotels. It was clean and comfortable and Jona was a great host being very helpful to us and responding quickly to email. We probably spent a total of 7 hours here simply to crash on our...

I spent one night as I was traveling back to the airport the next day. Price and location are great. I had a one bedroom with a shared bathroom. Overall, the entire place is clean and cozy. Will come back and stay here again :)

We stayed here with 2 adults and one child for 1 night beginning of August 2013. We shared one room. The guesthouse is easy reachable by car and quite close to Reyk. Jona is an excellent host. We hadn't enjoyed such a great breakfast in a guesthouse ever before! So many choices and great pancakes. The sleeping room and the...

We were in Gunnarsholmi Ghesthouse last week for three days and we really enjoyed our stay. We were lucky enough to have the entire house to ourselves and Jona let us pick whichever room we wanted. We stayed upstair near the living room. It was really nice, warm and so comfy, very comforting after long days trekking in the cold...

We stayed in late July for two nights, and found it charming, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and Jona Margaret was a wonderful host. She was very understanding when we arrived late at night, and she was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The house is a great choice for those looking to stay near, but not in, Reykjavik. Having...
