This is without doubt one of the BEST campgrounds I've ever been to so far, NO cars allowed on the island, so that is perfect, bring all your own food, supplies because no STORES either, bare bones wonderful REAL camping. enjoy those adorable foxes that ONLY live there; fun to watch......so much beauty everywhere you look... would LOVE to stay...

We took island Packers to get to the island. The staff avid capitan were very friendly. We rented kayaks from Then as well. Kayaking around the island was awesome. We saw a whale breach for at least 20 minutes. The capitan said he'd never seen a single whale beach for that long. I would highly recommend this trip.

My husband and I went over to Santa Cruz Island last Saturday. We hiked around and saw the beautiful rugged coastline, had a picnic lunch then went down to the campsite and saw three island foxes and Monarch butterflies in the eucalyptus trees. The last reviewer's descriptions are excellent--she sums it up nicely. I would add that you should be prepared to carry all of your gear up a fairly steep mountain trail to get to the campground, and with water jugs in hand, that can be a challenge.
