Great pan fried sea bass plus all the trimmings followed by a great sweet for around £15.00. As well as the fish special a full menu was also available with a nice selection suitable for vegetarians. Although it was dark when we visited the trout has a fantastic view over the harbour. Good friendly service made it a great night...

We live locally and regularly frequent whenever we are up for a good meal out. Not the cheapest by any standard, but hard to beat. A starter and main course will certainly fill you up, but if you can find room, try the Raspberry and Peach Pavlova with cream, Not to be missed. Enjoy.

Just had a fabulous meal at this excellent Restaurant. Great service and lots of choice, we opted for the Sirloin Steak and Rack of Lamb which were both cooked to perfection. The overall ambiance makes this a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary - definitely highly recommended.

Looks a bit run down but you can sit outside very nicely with fabulous views across New Quay harbour. The beetroot or shrimp and avocado bruschetta were to die for! Very nice fish dishes! Highly recommendable food and fab service (very friendly)!

Plenty of choice on the menu, whilst mostly fish and seafood there is more than enough to choose from, for instance carbonara, chilli con carne. The service was polite and timely, the place was lovely and clean, and the food was very nice. The portions are big and well worth the money. Would not hesitate to visit again.

Really friendly and helpful staff. good quality food and choice. Our room was lovely and the view just perfect. We had a family meal in the evening and it was a great occasion , enhanced by dolphins swimming in the bay. Breakfast outside the next morning was special with a great choice again beautifully presented . We will definitely come...

Visited for lunch this Sunday and was disappointed. I had a beef dinner; the portion of meat given was a lot smaller than on the next table and was very difficult to cut either due to poor cutlery or due to the way the meat had been carved. The meat was very chewy and unappetising. The desert was even worse!...

Have visited New Quay for the last 20 years and decided to stay at the Hungry Trout but what a dissapointment. We stayed for 3 nights ,the food was excellent and the service was also excellent as well. But the worst aspect was the accommodation .The room was large and obviously a smaller one but turned into 1 larger one with...

We visited here with our family for a meal. The menu was appealing and it was situated with an excellent view over the harbour. The meals we ordered were ok but lacked taste and the accompanying vegetables were pretty bland. Although the staff were friendly there was no check back to see if our meals were OK and one of...

Great meal tonight at the Hungry Trout, 4 adults, 1 teenager, and a 9 year old. The waitresses were polite, friendly, chatty and efficient. Our drinks order was taken quickly and we were left alone long enough to make our choices. Our starters came about 15 minutes later and were all excellent, mussels, ravioli, and crayfish. After another 15 minutes...
