The owner of the hotel is also the author of Bradt's guide to Paraguay and owns a fantastic home just a block away that is often used as an annex when she is traveling. We stayed there in absolute comfort and style. For dinner, brought to us, we had two musicians playing music with Paraguayan harp and guitar. The owner/author...

The hotel is wonderful. The rooms are charming but there is so much more. There is the library area with additional seating for reading or writing. Then there is the outside patio with hammocks. There is the front porch from which you can view the town square. The meals are very good and all services excellent. But the best part...

We are visitors from Canada, and booked in to this hotel for 2 days to start our journey. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, with great English. The place was very clean, and the rooms comfortable. We found plenty to do in our time here. Highly recommended!

As past reviews state the rooms are basic but very comfortable, with lovely touches in each room such as embroidered curtains crafted by the artisan's collective next door. The hotel's greatest strength is its exceptional staff. Maria Gloria and Milci are second to none in terms of customer service, the food was wonderful and we felt incredibly welcome. We will...

Santa Maria de Fe is a lovely tranquil place to relax and enjoy the mission museums in the area. The hosts are extremely accommodating, helpful arranging side trips and speak English if you need that. In fact there is a school to teach English to the locals so that they may participate in the tourist trade since there are so...

If you are ever in Paraguay, you must visit Santa Maria de Fe and stay a day or two in this beautiful hotel. The town was founded almost 400 years ago by Jesuit Missionaries. It has an interesting museum housed in a row of original buildings dating from the 18th century and housing an impressive collection of wood carved statues...

The rooms are bare bones, but as everyone else says it's one of the nicest places you can stay in Paraguay. Just sitting on the porch sharing terere - the Paraguayan iced tea - with Maria Gloria and the other staff is one of the best experiences I had in the country. The place was set up by Maragaret Hebblethwaite,...

It does not feel like staying in a hotel but home with friends. One of the best days we spent in Paraguay was here, in Santa Maria, sharing mate with Maria Gloria, visiting the museum, sitting under the porch looking at the square, feeding the howling monkeys...just great! Typical dinner was brought to the hotel, nice music, perfect!

Fabulous little hotel with staff who go out of their way to make your visit one to remember. I worried about not speaking Spanish but this wasn't a problem as the staff were happy to assist with any translations. This is a great location for visiting the missions and museums and the hotel provides information as well as having a...

The Hotel is very well located with a nice view on the central sqare and the church. Both the house and the furniture are modelled on the traditional indigena houses and integrate very well into the surroundings. The receptionist provides you with ample information on sites to visit and things to do. As the misiones region is quite extensive, its...
