Found this hotel late at night after driving for hours looking for somewhere to stay. Big hotel with ample car parking - very impressive building but the inside lets it down. The staff speak a little English. Restuarant attached to hotel was full of families but the food was ok except the waiter stands over you while you read the...

We stayed at Hotel Villa Giatra with 41 of our friends. We were celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary and this was really the only hotel large enough in the area to accommodate us all. I had read some reviews and they were pretty mixed so came here with an open mind and a c'est la Vie attitude. From the moment...

Stayed for a wedding celebration and the hotel staff couldn't have helped us more if they tried! Very friendly staff and go out of their way for you, including the manageresstaking us to the local police station in her village as my fiance lost his passport and needed some letter from the police to get home! Rooms were of decent...

I recently stayed here for 6 nights with my daughter. We had a good size room and had the benefit of having a balcony but unfortunately the first two days were without hot water. Once we did get hot water the shower was great. The water pressure was lovely. I found that the lift was also a bit temperamental. For...

Stayed as part of a family wedding group. Large Hotel which looked like it had been refurbished in parts, in the middle of nowhere (town centre is apprx 15 mins by car) and if you haven't got a car you will be stuck for things to do, unless you like lounging around the pool - bear in mind no (free...

I have been there only one night, but it has been more than enough for a lifetime. Upon arrival we have been assigned two rooms as booked but unfortunately one of the wc even if sealed was full of [--]. My wife had the wrong idea of flushing the water and this way at the reception started to argue that...

Very bad experience. Staff speak almost no English, rooms and bed are just horrible and breakfast is the worst. The location of the hotel just abeam a main road and a Gaz station give a very poor feeling and bad view. Only the swimming pool looks ok. Hope to find another place soon.

This was our second visit to Villa Giatra and it is as wonderful as it was 4 years ago! We like the location as it is easy to arrive and there is a huge parking lot. Also, it is close to some wonderful villages for easy day trips: Sutera, Musomelli and Castronovo. Lovely setting and view from the room, large...

The hotel exceeded any expectations we had. Typical Sicily. I would say that the main plus is the peaceful location and the scenery - not to mention the facility to buy good value local cuisine and drink in traditional Sicilian surroundings. The staff are particularly warm and give a traditional Sicilian welcome which I suspect is unique and warm unlike...

“Friday night is club night (all the youngsters in the area congegrate) and in the mornings there is a watercize instructor blaring instructions at the pool so choosing a room facing the car park is quieter.”
