Parambikulam village, dam and the main, Honeycomb accommodation (and some others) are all about 25km from the park entrance, which takes nearly 2h on partly rough road that climbs a hillside. Factor this into your timing. Google clearly doesn't… The Honeycomb accommodation bedrooms are a/c, with ensuite bathrooms of mixed standard. The Rs. 7300 per double room included a good...

When in the jungle the golden rule is to keep your mouth shut and to keep your ears and eyes wide open, and you will be rewarded. We did and we spotted a pack of Wild Dogs, Indian Gaur, Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Nilgiri Langurs, Grey/Hanuman Langur, Giant Malabar Squirrel, Grey Hornbill (there were so many birds, with such varied...

Two kids and two adults on a weekday off peak season: We drove up from Coimbatore (about a 3-hour drive). We were told upfront, it is a dry season, chances of seeing wild animals are remote and the jungle safari or elephant rides might not happen. We passed the Top Slip Elephant Sanctuary...all the elephants were moved to other places...

Awesome place, well maintained. I was able to spot sambars, spotted deers, wild boars, monkeys, peacocks, wild hen, and last but definitely not the least king of the ghat. Stay at thunakadavu is really good, its at a secluded place compared to other stays, well maintained. Food provided is edible enough and staff and guide are very helpful.

Excellent place with very good staff, the place offers different type of accommodation and its a very unique experience. Make sure you reach the place on time as they close the forest gate for entry and you don't want to get stuck on the way, as the way is little uphill through the forest. We stayed in a tented niche....

Very very superb area to start with the family in the weekend. All our children will definitely love the place, because they can enjoy the sound of the animals and birds, which is so peculiar and wonderful. Everybody should have the same experience in the weekend and enjoy very much.

A lush green Jungle. The road trip is as amazing as the destination itself. It has a wonderful, helpful and polite staff. One has to book in advance for the stay. The stay comprises of a safari (van), raft trip by the reservoir, dance by the tribals and a morning walk in the jungle. Food is cooked by a family...

We went to Parambikulam on a day trip. Road from sethumadi to top slip is vet bad, bumpy and pot holes all the way till top slip. At top slip, we are surprised to see not enough people had come for a safari on a Saturday. So we moved on to Prambikulam. At Parambikulam there was a decent crowd and...

We spent two wonderful days here. It's clean, the staff are friendly and really care about their jobs (when we offered our guide a tip, as you're expected to in Tamil Nadu he turned it down) and they proudly claimed that woman can travel there unaccompanied and she would be safe. Their wildlife conservation efforts are great.Saw animals (crocodile, wild...
