Having stayed here every winter for several years this hotel and the staff are always a pleasure to re-visit. The food is superb and the simple but comfortable rooms amply befit an old climbing base for the 'golden age' mountain climbers. The hotel celebrates its 150th anniversary next year. Sample the local Lotschental cheeses every morning for breakfast ;the dairy produce...

We stayed in this cosy hotel with our friend from abroad. We were, once again, absolutely thrilled by the good quality of the food, the lunch parcel for our hikes and the excellent value for our money! We'll be back!

Another visit to this superb hotel. Semper Eadem: excellent food, stunning flora, all surrounded by some of the best mountains Europe can offer. Easy access from Zurich Flughafen by intercity train to Spiez, then the historic Loetschberg mountain line to Goppenstein where the post bus waits to take you up the enchanted valley to Ried.

Set in a beautiful and striking valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains, this is your typical mountain lodge. Far from big cities, this is an escape to the remotes regions. When we got there in the afternoon, the bar tender just gave us the key and walked us to the room. That was the check-in process. Room was wood lined with...

This hotel is located in a stunningly beautiful valley with summer and winter activities for all ages/abilities. The room was quiet and clean with a comfortable bed and lovely view. Lady who greeted us was very cordial and gave recommendations for hiking. Traveled with a very large dog and was welcomed. The restaurant was FABULOUS! It was autumn and wild...

was waiting for us as we drove into the Lotschental Valley...as another reviewer wrote, we also knew nothing about this area, I had read a brief article about it some years ago and wanted to visit. It is a beautiful valley, different from other valleys totally enveloped by mountains, this one has the mountain range at the end of the...

We selected this hotel as a base for a few days hiking without knowing much about the area. What a delightful surprise! The Swiss post bus took us directly to the front door of the hotel which is situated in the beautiful Lotschental Valley. It's a gorgeous area and we were all delighted with this small family run charming hotel....

The hotel itself is fine. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. However, the dining room was a disaster!!! Although it was attractive, and the food was good, it was totally infested with flies. They were so thick, that it made it difficult to truly enjoy your expensive meal....

This is the oldest hotel in the remote, wild and peaceful (but easily accessible) valley of Lötschental. It is seeped in history and full of character and charm. There are so many nice little touches from the tschäggättä mask key rings to the old Walliser artifacts to be found on every floor. The room are nothing fancy but they are...

Hi. I have always wished to re visit the Lotschental, and the opportunity came with a Skiclub GB tour this winter. The hotel had been chosen by our guide, principally on the basis of its restaurant, and we were not let down. Excellent food, a good reasonably priced wine list (for Swiitzerland!), comfortable accommodation and very pleasant staff, all in...
