Just called in for a quick pint with friends whilst visiting the area and we were impressed by the staff who were very friendly and welcoming. Excellent pint of Jennings beer in comfortable surroundings. Now our challenge is to see how we can fit in another visit before we leave!

Arrived pretty late after traffic jam, disappointed as I think ice missed out on having a good look round a lovely place! Back to the hotel, as said, arrived quite late, but was seen promptly and shown to room, food was about to be stopped but thankfully they squeezed my order in, Yorkshire quality and helpings with small price, fantastic!...

We ate at the King's Head hotel on three occasions during our visit to Kirkbymoorside. On each occasion we were made very welcome by the hotel staff, the "Locals" were great, very friendly and made us feel at home. The food served at the hotel was of top quality, well cooked/presented and a very good portion size.

Friendly welcome but room was scruffy and not especially clean. Room was on roadside and hence traffic noise all night. Towel rail in shower 'cupboard' fell off and hook on back of door too loose to use. Lacked home comforts. Did not live up to our expectations at all.

We stayed here in early April for our wedding anniversary escape. It's a pub with rooms, not an hotel. That said, the room we had was pleasant; reasonably spacious and reasonably well equipped. Trip Advisor asks whether there is a flat screen TV; yes, there is - sit close- it's not big! Is there wi-fi? Yes, there is -about as...

We booked for lunch as we were taking a friend with us. They have a really excellent choice on the lunch time menu: Steaks with all the trimmings, fish including Salmon, meat pie, lasagne, etc All served beautifully. They also have certain dishes that can be ordered as a smaller portion. My husband had Steak, cooked to perfection, I had...

We decided to stay here before the Hardmoors 55-mile race. It is really close to Helmsley (starting point) and we thought it would be a good idea. The place proved us wrong! The day we arrived, we were greeted by the owner and notified (just then!) that there was an Irish night with live music which was our first worried....

Wow! What a fab place. Countryside and village feel but still in reach of major cities and towns. The staff were soooo friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone. The food is some of the best we have tasted! The Peroni on draught was nectar in a glass. Thank you so much management you have a gem.
