Have stayed here three years running now. This is a very pleasant hotel in the heart of the countryside. Very comfortable. Very welcoming. Good service. Good food. Cosy bar. Had a minor issue this time that was attended to straight away. Just the job for...More
We stay here for two days, annually and have done for the last 4 years, on the way up to a 3 day 'Society' golf event in Alnmouth, Nr. Newcastle. Any golfers wanting a base there, would do well to view the TripAdvisor 'Westlea' (Janice)...More

There is a local bus service number 194 which picks up outside the hotel and will take you to Malton where you can pick up a train to York. But on your return the last bus back to Hovingham leaves Malton at 6pm.
Alternatively you could drive to the outskirts of York and use the park and ride the best one from here being the one situated at Monks Cross, I think the last bus back is around 8pm.
I hope this helps.
We look forward to welcoming you to Hovingham.
