Its one of those places where you can't really take umbrage but which seems to be ever so slightly off-beam. Most bedrooms are in an adjacent house a couple of hundred meters away across the car park, the wifi doesn't work, the shower on the top floor of the house was like the morning mist, as a group of seven...

Stayed here for 5 days in March 2015. Great location, exceptional service from all hardworking staff. Extensive menu which I tried very hard to work my way through for dinner each day. Great breakfasts, snacks and soups all just terrific. Room smallish - expected this for the type of hotel and location, but very very clean with ensuite shower room....

We spent several nights and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and very good food. It is ideally located for walking and the scenery is exceptional. There is a short walk from the room in the Manor House to the restaurant at the Red Lion but that adds to the country atmosphere.

We spent 3 nights at the Manor house, its just lovely. We have also stayed in the Red Lion both are great family owned and run and they will go out of their way to help and make your stay an enjoyable one. The breakfast they serve is one of the best in Yorkshire and will set you up for...

We stayed for one night during our Dales Way walk, and to be honest we'd have stayed longer if we could have. Huge bed, large room (sadly without a view), and a bathroom to die for. Large bath AND a huge walk in shower. TV & wifi etc all provided. We ate in the bar rather than in the restaurant,...

Came here for a one night stay for our anniversary. We were looking for a break away from the kids and so just wanted to relax in peaceful surroundings. We definitely came to the right place. We were dealt with quicky, and efficiently on our arrival to book into our room. The confirmation e-mail we got made it very clear...

Thankfully we booked this 2 night stay using a voucher promotion and did not pay the price quoted n the website. This review would've been much more negative if we had. You need to check in at the Red Lion Hotel reception desk and then carry the luggage back from there about 100 yards to go into the Manor House....

We arrived just after 3pm and the room wasn't ready even though we were told we could book in for 3pm.The chamber maids were still cleaning the bedroom and there were towels all over the main hall way which was extremely shabby and unwelcoming. The room was an attic bedroom and extremely small! The main light wasn't working and there...

This was our first visit to this hotel, which is linked to the Red Lion next door, and were very pleasantly surprised. From the beautiful setting of Barnsall, the walking in the surrounding area, the Dales Way and of course the Restaurant All these together add up to a most comfortable stay. The restaurant in the Red Lion was superb,...
