We stayed for a night in March. The room was clean and tidy and did everything you needed. The bar was lively in the evening with nice wine and beer. The food looked good but we were eating elsewhere. The breakfast was truly excellent and served well. Friendly owner. Worth staying and good value

The rooms are very nicely put together. Clean and comfortable with all you need. Great power in the shower too which isn't always the case. The pub is really old and it's in a beautiful part of Oxfordshire in a lovely village. What stood out for me and hence the review is that we have a three week old baby....

Went here for a Sunday lunch - a friend of mine lives in Duns Tew so I had not heard about this place previously. It has everything a pub should have - cosy atmosphere, dark corners, lots of wood and stone, a fireplace, lovely service and delicious food. The pork belly stood out immediately and I was not left disappointed....

Stayed last Saturday night arriving in foul weather. Room, whilst quite small, was very adequate for us although hanging space is at a premium if you stayed longer. Room was cosy, clean and everything worked fine. Nice bar in the pub with good ale and lovely, unusual glass beer tankards. Dinner in the restaurant area was pleasant and atmosphere good....

Stayed here Thursday what a quaint pub, rooms were smallish but fully equipped, pub is very old and well presented. Good selection of drinks, menu smallish but a great variety. Stayed with a colleague and we both had different starters and mains, which could not be faulted, also watching the other food that came out it all looked great. All...

After a ridiculous day of getting used to left side driving and roundabouts, we ended up at this oasis of awesomeness. From check in to check out we had an amazing stay which reenergized us for our 3 week road trip. James and Harry were the best bartenders. I recommend their pub (which is frequented by locals) for some good...

I was excited to see this place when we arrived, and, generally, it was fine. (I had booked it some time before, and had seen a lot of good reviews.) We were shown to our room by a member of staff, and given brief details about breakfast times, etc. Immediately, I felt the room was a little chilly, so checked...

My husband and I stayed for one night, on booking I thought it slightly expensive, and on reflection it probably still is, the room was compact but nicely accesorised, and the bathroom had an overbath shower, and again on the small size. HOWEVER, we had such a lovely time I would happily stay again. The rooms were cozy , the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The White Horse is a quintessential 17th century English coaching inn set on the eastern side of the Cotswolds in the charming village of Duns Tew. With original flagstone floors, beams and real fires. The White Horse has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere making it the perfect place to enjoy a drink or meal with friends. Our south facing terrace is perfect on warm days. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome. The White Horse has greeted travellers for the last three hundred years. Little is known of the early history of this late 17th century hostelry, but there was certainly an Inn here. Inn keepers are recorded here up to the present day, with its own brew-house run by a Maltster, in the early 17th century. The brew-house is now the site of the gents' loo.Towards the end of 1981 The White Horse was remodelled with the addition of a dining room, but it was still a true Inn as there was stabling and fodder for a traveller's horse as well as Bed and Breakfast for the rider. In the last decade of the 17th century the White Horse was again developed to the arrangement seen now, with a new Kitchen, Dining Room and Bar, in a traditional style, and extended bedroom accommodation. ... more   less
