Our first visit to The Inn at Hawnby. we 4 stayed 2 nights on a DBB package, very good value, rooms spotless and comfortable. Our bathroom had recently been refurbished to an excellent standard. Dinner was superb with attentive unobtrusive service. Cooked breakfast was first class, a better choice of fruit would have been nice. real ale was in excellent...

Great location for walkers and to escape for weekend but the food served is appalling for the prices set. Considering the pub welcomes walkers, the menu offers the tiniest unappertising meals to satisfy any stomache. We escaped for a weekend of hopeful relaxing 'our time' to be left very hungry and disappointed with the whole offering. No bottled water in...

Just came back from a night stay at the Inn at Hawnby and cannot speak highly enough. Great food, great rooms, great beer and polite and attentive staff. Every thing is of a very high standard and cannot be faulted. Loved the bar with its open fire and its plush seating. Could not get my room TV to work, but...

I was on business and decided to stay at this Inn/Restaurant based in the Yorkshire National Park rather than a commercial hotel. Thank goodness I did. It's a little gem and I'll definitely plan to stay here again. Cute little cottage room and fabulous food in the restaurant using local produce. Great for walks. Not great for internet/mobile access ........

Wonderful overnight DBB stay at The Inn in Hawnby - idyllic, peaceful and NO MOBILE SIGNAL in the village (more like a hamlet actually) - it was wonderful. They do have perfectly good WiFi and land line telephones reached them several years ago! You're welcome to use the latter if you need to establish communications with the outside world. Seriously...

My friends and I called here on Sunday 4th October as we were returning to Cumbria later that day. We were going horse riding close by and wanted a light lunch. My friend ordered ham and tomato sandwich and I ordered cheese and tomato sandwich. When mine arrived it was cheese and tomato relish which was not what id ordered....

Dave is an excellent host and a great source of information about the best places to visit in the area. Nearby Helmsley is a charming town but if you want to really get away from it all and have an idyllic countryside experience, the Inn at Hawnby is highly recommended. We stayed for three nights and took all of our...
