We enjoyed our stay at Macdonald Leeming House but I don't really think that it was worth the money paid. The grounds are undeniably stunning (wake up early for the sunrise it is incredible) and all of the staff were very welcoming. The breakfast was ok - I definitely wouldn't have paid £21.50 for the cooked breakfast had it not...

Booked the hotel on the macdonald website and it was excellent value, you cannot buy it cheeper anywhere else, the staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble, the room was very comfortable, tea and coffee facilities, iron and ironing board, slippers and dressing gown, hotel is set in beautifullly tended gardens which go down to the lake, a...

Hotel is in a great but isolated location. Service; Excellent and attentive staff. Although those on reception desk require more training on the local area however i appreciate that this is ongoing. Room; Executive Double with Lake View. Superb Room with all you need although there is two lovely chairs that have there backs to to the view, you would...

Stayed here for one night on a Sunday. Very professional reception service and glass of sherry which was appreciated after a very long drive. Our room was lovely (executive king) with robes which were a little small...and free slippers! The only thing that could do with attention is the bath panel, room 36 paint peeling and no hot and cold...

We used the hotel as a half way stop over point on our way to the Highlands & again on the way back. The experience on the way up was great, comfortable rooms, attentive staff . We ate in the restaurant, the food was great, staff were friendly. On the way back a week later we decided that we didn't...

We originally went for 2 nights with an incredibly cheap deal from late rooms.com but were enjoying ourselves so much we asked for an extra night which the hotel matched in price. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in the lakes. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are fantastic. Our room which had patio doors opening onto...

We booked this as a last-minute deal, with no particular expectations, and were blown away. Clean spacious rooms, comfy bed, Arran Aromatic toiletries, Breakfast was excellent (I'd recommend eggs benedict). Evening meals were too many courses and too pricey for us at £45 a head, fixed price, but I'm sure it really would have been fine dining. We chose to...

For reasons not important, rushed off to spend 1 night at the wonderful Leeming House. We arrived with just enough day light to get a few pics of the snow covered lawns. The room was magnificent. Everything you could want in a luxury room. A stunning dinner, served by amazingly friendly and attentive staff. Had to leave very early so...

Arrived on a Saturday. The hotel is set in a beautiful location on the side of Ullswater and has lovely gardens that reach down to the lake side. We were warmly greeted by a very pleasant lady on reception. The room was very comfortable and spacious and had full tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, bathrobe , slippers and...
