Stayed for just one night. The room was advertised as having free wifi, but this was only available on the ground floor, not on the 2nd floor. Even then it was pitifully slow. My room (Chestnut) was so cold, with a feeble radiator, that I...More
Being run into the ground. Was in Aspen. Mould needs cleaning. Chair had huge stain on it. Saucers dirty. Dated decor. Couldn't see the views as windows steamed up, black mould and damp and dismal. Felt very ripped off as this cost over 100 pounds...More

We ate in The Hotel and found the food excellent with plenty of choice and as we were there for the New Year celebrations it was fabulous in the Marquee

It is a fixed price menu ~£25. Given the small size of the hotel and the price point, I found the food pretty good. It is well presented and I liked the traditional, semi formal but relaxed environment of the restaurant. We were there for two nights and I found my choices a little bland for my taste on the first night and excellent on the second. I believe they have small smokery and their smoked duck and smoked haddock extremely good. I never tried the bar meals. If you have a young family or prefer the wider choice and familiar staples of restaurant chains, it may not be an ideal choice.
