We had an attic room. It was clean and comfortable. Lovely soft fluffy towels and very hot water for bathing. Our dog was able to stay too. We didnt use the pool but will next time. Breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel late, without research, as a convenient stopover between Aberystwyth and Telford. My expectations were exceeded by a lovely, quaint place with excellent food served in the bar or restaurant. Room 12 is obviously one of the refurbished rooms and it was clean, comfortable and surprisingly spacious for an old building. Good beers here too. Highly recommended.

We booked this hotel as we wanted to explore this area and were not disappointed. This is an old building and has its own brand of charm. The rooms are a reasonable size and are equipped with everything you need for a few nights stay although the soundproofing between rooms could be better. The meals we had were very generous...

We chose this because it is close to the trail. The staff are efficient and friendly, the rooms are fine and clean and the restaurant and bar are good. The atmosphere in the evenings was lively and friendly. Definitely worth staying at.

Great hotel for 1 night break, first time we stayed in attic room, not as nice as others, but restaurant and staff made up for this. Early start for breakfast means we could make an early start to our business meetings the next day.

I have family who live near by and were very keen to take me to this pub. It is right in the centre of the village and clearly a favourite with locals. Has a nice outdoor seating area. The pub was of a gold standard. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star as I felt the beer was...

Hotel looked fantastic from outside but room, although clean, was basic and shower room dated. No towels or crockery on arrival although provided promptly when asked for. Retired to bar which was lovely and allowed dogs, followed by lovely meal in empty restaurant. Overall OK but rather pricey for what it was.

Used the Dragon some time back and the opportunity came around again. Arrived in the evening and the car park was all but full and looking the bar seemed quite busy. Check in was quick and then it was off to the room to drop off the bags. The room was compact and quirky. If you want 5* and luxury...

We arrived here on a work trip after several nights in ghastly Hiltons and other chains. Montgomery is a delightful little town - Britain as it used to be. The staff at the Dragon, which is independently-owned (and it shows) could not have been friendlier. Terrific service, comfy rooms, good range of beers and excellent food.

Our stay in The Dragon Hotel in June was all that I hoped it would be: Elizabethan in feel but comfortable. Our 2-bed room was spacious and bright, the bathroom was huge with a grand tub and our beds were comfortable. The creaky old wood floors were just what I expected. Dinner in the restaurant was good and well-served. Breakfast...
