Small hotel -- friendly reception --and we had an interesting chat with the owner. It was a Wednesday evening/night and very quiet. The evening meal was fine but the lamb was not exceptional Room small but well appointed and a decent shower The wonderful Egyptian cotton sheets were a real highlight of our stay. Breakfast was fine in a large...

We stayed at Ash House for a night while visiting older relatives in the area.It was in a convenient location, had lots of character, and was well decorated and furnished. Managers very welcoming and helpful. Food of good quality, especially at breakfast time, and our hosts had also remembered that my partner needed a wheat and dairy free diet. They...

Stayed for 2 nights on bed and breakfast basis. Hotel was easy to find and owner was very welcoming on checkin and gave some excellent advice on places to eat in the locality if we did not want to eat at the hotel. The room was of a good size, clean and very comfortable as was the ensuite. The breakfast...

Could not fault this hotel. I stayed for 3 nights. The beds are so comfortable even asked what pillows they use as I want them at home. The food was amazing never felt hungry throughout my stay. The owner Gordon and staff Chrissy are just amazing always very helpful.

We were in need of a hotel at very late notice, Gordon II the night manager went out if his way to be incredibly helpful. He found us somewhere to eat, phoned ahead, lent us a dog lead, prepared a delicious breakfast (veggie and meaty) and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is clean, tidy, warm, great showers, comfy...

Had a last minute stay at this very nice friendly hotel. The manager (Gordon) was amazing, he was on reception, serving behind the bar, delivered food in the restaurant and all the time was the perfect host with a wonderful Troon accent. The restaurant served some wholesome great food that we all enjoyed. The Standard rooms that we ordered were...

We have been to Ash House Hotel many times and always receive such a warm welcome from Gordon. I think I have said before that it is like being a special guest at someone's private house party. They have a super chef and we had several superb evening meals and breakfasts. Ash House is a very old English house set...

We stayed here on our way further southwest as we needed somewhere that was not too far from the A303, and that was a good way from London. After possibly the worst journey I can remember with traffic and roadworks on the M25, M3 and A303 we eventually arrived to a warm welcome from Gordon and his staff. We ate...

We stopped for one night on our way home from Cornwall. Arrived at the beautiful hotel, where we were met by the friendly receptionist, who provided fresh milk and showed us to our nice room. Really, the only thing that let the stay down was the worn-out mattress, which gave us back ache. We didnt stay for breakfast as we...

We booked less than a week in advance for three nights with our dog to visit friends. Pippin was a modest sized though adequate room with a large bathroom with bath and separate Mira power shower. The bedroom was really comfortable and enjoyed a garden view. There were a couple of minor niggles that were not enough to mention. The...
